After being made available on PDAs, Infogation's Odyssey Mobile that we recently reviewed is now powering the MAP-STAR widescreen AIO. Like the Garmin Nuvi 660 it boasts a 4.3" 16:9 screen with HD resolution (480x272) for added visual comfort. Apparently it got quite a bit of attention at the CES show in early January and it is expected to ship in February. In the meantime, you can use this thread of the "GPS and Mobile News" forums to discuss.
Updated January 13th, 2007 - After reviewing the latest versions of Route 66 Navigate 7, TomTom Navigator 6 and iGO USA 2006, Chris (aka cgavula) has completed his full review of Infogation's Odyssey v4 and found quite a lot to like about it, such as the unique "split screen". Updated November 3rd, 2006 - Encouraged by the good reception made to v3, Infogation have just made v4 available with several new features, including support for more screen resolutions, such as the 240x240 square resolution of the HP hw6915 or Treo 700/750w, more detailed guidance screens, user customizable skins, time adjustment based on GPS time, etc.....They still have a free 3 day trial for people to give it a try and GpsPasSion Club members can get $30 off the full v4 DVD. You can use this thread of the "PDA Navigation Software" forums for screenshots and to share your experiences with Odyssey Mobile v4.
Posted July 17th - It's not that often that new GPS assisted navigation software becomes available and even less so that it comes with a free trial, a frequent request from forum members. This is what Infogation are offering with Odyssey Mobile v3.0.
This full featured navigation program uses Navteq maps of North America with online map updates for one year, another frequent request from users...... Standard features include 2D and 3D modes, approaching cross-street display and a "type ahead" keyboard for faster data entry. Semsons have announced a special $100 launch price and the link for the free trial.
