Thanks to Google we are getting a short preview of what the next version of Alturion, version 6, will be like.
What's new and improved : - Tracking and localization of vehicles from a PC - Access to traffic history for improved route planning (live traffic via TMC still available of course) - Rate POIs (hotels for instance) and share the ratings with other users - Updated TeleAtlas maps as of August 2004 - Optional maps of the USA - Compatible with WM2003SE's landscape mode
All in all a lot of exciting new features, but it remains to be seen how they will be integrated and whether the interface will have been revamped enough to improve usability, an area where Alturion was lacking in its previous versions compared with the competition (TomTom, Navigon)
