The Consumer Electronics Show takes place each year in Las Vegas in early January preceding its European counterpart the CeBIT held in March in Hanover by a few months. Together with the 3GSM that has now relocated to Barcelona and the Computex Show in Taïpei in may, it's a good opportunity to find out what's new and improved for all things GPS. While you tend to meet the same people and companies (software editors, map makers, manufacturer from Taïwan, etc...) the markets are different and from one show to the other you get a good sense of the trends in the works and as far as GPS is concerned growth and innovation are on hand! I hadn't been back to Las Vegas since the Comdex 2002 show and this time Paul joined me there to cover the show (see the Live Report). After the CES show I spent a couple of days in Silicon Valley to meet with SiRF and Globallocate.
