Just confirming that you have a cord from the headphone jack on the iPhone to the aux in of the radio.

when the call comes in have you tried to select the audio on the iPhone to the aux in?

Please keep in mind that the BT connection between the car kit and the phone is for GPS only. All audio will be via the kit or an aux cord out of the headphone jack on the phone

The Bluetooth is ONLY used for the audio signals, the GPS data is fed in to the iPhone via its docking connector. I would delete the Bluetooth pairing for the TomTom car kit and try again just using the 3,5MM audio socket on the iPhone (not the socket on the car kit) - Mike

However, one problem I am having, for some reason all iphone applications (navigation, radio stations, ipod,...) are routed to the car speakers except telephone calls are routed to the built in speaker.
This renders the car kit and the Bluetooth feature almost useless for calls, as the built in speaker doesn't provide adequate sound quality for a telephone conversation.

Is there a way to fix this and have the calls also routed to the car aux?
Thanks,

From the car kit manual:
TomTom car kit EN
To play music on your iPhone through your car stereo, connect the TomTom
car kit to the car stereo using a 3.5mm mini stereo audio cable (not supplied).

Note: Hands-free calls are not played over the car stereo.

Again if there is an issue of pairing (from the car kit manual)
TomTom car kit
Bluetooth reset and volume control
The TomTom car kit can pair with up to 8 different iPhones. To remove all paired devices, or if the car kit does not connect properly to your iPhone, press and hold the volume button for 8 seconds. You should now establish the Bluetooth connection between your iPhone and the car kit again.
To adjust the volume, move the volume control up or down.

I was able to verify yesterday that the TomTom Car Kit can be used as an external GPS receiver for a non-3G/GPS iPad with a simple iPhone extension cable:

Probably not useful on a daily basis but could come in handy. It won't power up the iPad though.
