Hello All

This week I bought an Aires T920A ( new generation )

It comes with IGO 2006 or 2007 instead of Route66 - it uses Windows CE Net 4.2 Core

I dont know too much about GPS / Win CE etc.

It comes with Brazil / USA / Mexico and Canada maps. But I really need the maps from Europe

Instead of Route 66 that uses *.prm maps - IGO uses *.flb maps. I have downloaded all mapas of Europe .flb I found.

I copy and past on the SD card only one map to test it. When I turn the Airis on appears a message saying that There are maps looked and to get in touch with Aires Brazil. After I erased the map it works perfect.

What do I have to do to use the Europe Maps on my device. I dont wanna pay all the money they charge to buy the maps from Airis Brazil.

Does anybody has any idea to help me out ?

I have the same request, please someone can post the way to operate? thanx in advance, Marco.

Okay, I found a different way to get the Start Bar to load without loading anything. Force the unit into flash mode (or at least what I think is flash mode) to upgrade the firmware by pressing the reset button, releasing and then hold down the power button. The loading screen with scroll bar crosses the screen about 1/5 of the way and you will get a dialogue saying "Error: There is no DM in SD Card". Press OK and it takes you to a window where you can run Windows Explorer and access a Control Panel.

I'm starting to wonder if this is as easy to program the rom as the XDA pocket-pc phone, where you can replace apps and stuff. I need to figure out how to do a ROM dump for a backup.

So after reading about the C310Auto.exe work, I decided to take a look at what's going on in the Typhoon MyGuide 3240. I found out that on the ROM the initialization called MRCST.EXE instead of ST.EXE like on the C310. This executable does not check for the presence of C310Auto.exe or any executable on the Storage Card. It does check for a file if you go into the special boot mode described above in my original post. I examined MRCST.EXE and it checks for Oscar200DM.exe or gives the error "There is no DM in SD Card". I renamed C310Auto.exe to Oscar200DM.exe and then created an Oscar200DM.c31 file on my SD card.

The Oscar200DM.c31 contains:
#Typhoon Myguide 3240 Go Unlock Script

ExtRegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Util\RegEdit.exe"
Copy "\Storage Card\Programs\Windows\*.dll" \Windows
Copy "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\PPATH.TXT" \Windows
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\MiTAC.reg"
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\MiTAC2.reg"
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\Shell.reg"
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\Time.reg"
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\Touch.reg"
RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Unlock\iNav.reg"

Programs RegEdit "\Storage Card\Programs\Util\RegEdit.exe"

Message "iGuidance is ready!"

Now if my battery runs out of juice or if I switch the unit off with the switch at the bottom, I can instantly restore all settings needed for iGuidance automatically and also settings for Language and Time Zone by following the boot procedure I outlined above to get to Windows Explorer. Pretty cool.
