The new maps are available online now, 79 Euros for the updated tele atlas maps and of course V5 is available for free download too.

Lest anyone get too excited, only the mobile and Go upgrades are available. Interestingly, the site says that Navigator will become available "starting mid-May." Mid-June is more like it, eh?

Not sure if this is the right place ...... but I have a TomTom Go 700 question!! I just bought one last week, so far VERY happy with it. Maps seem cool and VERY current. The hands free option also works very well for making and receiving calls. I can also receive text messages via bluetooth on the TomTom screen, but if I try to create a new message, it tells me that the phone (Motorola V3) is no supported, which seems a little strange given that all the other hands free options work perfectly!! Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

Also, in the docking options, it says that I can link map view to headlights and audio output to the car radio volume. I can't see how this works? Is this simply that I need to read the manual properly, or does it only work with certain cars/radios?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

You will need to get the permanent docking kit, I believe, to enable the headlight thing etc. Retails about £100. As regards the phone, at first they only supported "symbian OS" ones at first ( ie nokia 6600) in full. Most ofthe other supported phones would only work as far as the plus services.

Thanks for the info Compufix. I actually asked my next question in a new topic, but I'm worried you won't see it there!?!?! I spend a lot of time in Ireland and find that the TomTom Map is very vague. I have contacted TomTom and they tell me that no detailed Ireland Maps are available. Moreover, they have no information on future development timelines!!! Do you know if it's possible to use a 3rd party map (say ... Navteq) with a TomTom Go unit?

To be honest, I have no idea. I know Ireland coverage is very patchy. That seems to be the case with 99% of satnav systems, and ,again, I have no idea why. I hate to admit defeat, but I cant be of more help, sorry
