It looks as if the specified SRX and ASR files for CNNA 2013.10 as in here: http://www.noeman.org/gsm/garmin-maps/262563-city-navigator-north-america-nt-2013-10-a.html, will not enable voice commands and find.
I attempted using the files I downloaded from the above link (045gmf41.asr size 784,437,966 and 045gmf40.srx size 2,699,586) and
failed to activate the voice ("not available" error).
When I used the procedure advised by Turboccc above - webupdater - I just received a SRX file which is different in size than the 045gmf40.asr above. Now the voice commands are activated but not the find, as I am missing the correct ASR file.
My guess is that the though the 37XX CNNA last update is called 2013.20 it may require different ASR file than 045gmf41.asr specified above or else it may only be a name change.
Can someone let me know the name and size of a working ASR file?Or even better upload or point me to the correct one
Update: I attempted lifetime updater but the ASR file didn't download.
Then I copied again the 045gmf41.asr and 045gmf40.srx into the .System\ASR folder and now Voice address find function! |

Hello, I've question about getting 3790 features to 3760 navi ? I'm planning to buy 3760 and want to flash it with SG/MY firmware because of POI's. It is possible to flash it with 3790 SG/MY firmware ? After flashing it it is needed to patch it to 3790 ? How I get 3D maps to 3760 - will be downloaded from Garmin automatically with Livetime Maps or they must be copied from some 3790 navi ?

I was never able to flash any Asian firmware to nuvi 3760. Even the very old ones, that some people used successfully on nuvi 3790.

If you dont need Blutooth/Voice command then better to buy 3750.
3750 can be flashed with SgMy fw.
We can enable 3D building/3D Terrain view / and all of 3790 features except BT/voice command. |

Hello, it is not possible to flash Asian firmware on 3760 ? I have 3790 and I've flashed it with 2.30 firmware and it was working OK. Unfortunately I've broke navi and I'm going to buy new - actually 3750 is not available on Amazon.co.uk. If 3760 can not be flashed with Asian firmware I’ll buy 3790 again, but price is much higher.

I don't say it is impossible, it was only a warning that you can't take it for granted. Maybe I have some specific configuration or any other peculiarity in my nuvi.

Can you sum up the benefits of flashing SG/MY FW on 3790 US?
What are the negatives? (Is there a problem to update maps and additions files or else FW updates?)

My positive experiences with Sg/My firmware 2.30 on 3790 are :
- added Points of Interest on map - I often use them
- added Highway mode - shows names and kilometers of highway exits
- added compass on map by navigating
- added name of actual road and street you are traveling
- added controlling of speed by simulation
- added MP3 player, but I do not use it
And negative :
- wrong searching in streets names and towns
- updating maps often requires upgrade firmware to newest US version and flashing Sg/My firmware again
- with US firmware it is better satellite signal than with Sg/My
There are more positives, so searching way to get Sg/My firmware and now I need new navi - so I'm deciding between 3790 and 3760. If there is possibility to have 3760 with Sg/My firmware and functions of 3790 (3D terrain and building) I will buy 3760 other way I'll buy 3790.

Yes , we can get 3D building / 3D Terrain view for 3760US too.
These features still be enable after Map updating. |

I don't understand why, this ain't working for me.
What I do:
I downloaded the latest version of web updater.
I downloaded RGN_Tool.
Connect my 3760T EU to my computer and copy the .System\GUPDATE.GCD to my desktop and remove the original from de .System directory.
I run RGN_Tool and load the copied GCD file.
I select Tools/Nuvi 3790 Patch
For an extra check step my firmware verson from 480 to 481 (is this possible?)
Save this patched firmware to an RGN file.
I go to the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\WebUpdater and drop the new RGN file on webupdater
Webupdater start but can't fund my GPS (obviously)
Hard reset my GPS
Turn on the GPS
Press above the G for pre-loading
System is displayed in blue
I connect my GPS to my PC
Loading is displayed in blue
After that, the preloading text disappears and the GPS boots further
Eventually my GPS goes into USB mode and I can select it in WebUpdater
WebUpdater loads some file (my RGN?) on my GPS.
I disconnect my GPS so it turns off
I turn it on, but nothing happens, the patched firmware isn't loaded.
Why??? |

| Okay, the answer here is *NOT* to use webupdater (the usual way) but the older "updater.exe". Some firmware is loeden now. Let's get it working properly... to be continued |
