Only gps.bin contains tracks. I can guess that nav.bin has something to do with navigation directions while traffic.bin with TMC traffic data. But have no idea what is inside.

Thanks to all on this forum. Especially NanaimoRick. I read about your recent trip to California. When Staples had the 1490T for $179.95 last week, I made the plunge. I have used a Magellan hand-held for many years, mainly because of the great track logs. I synchronize my digital camera clock to the GPS time... We just returned from Branson MO using my new 1490. As suspected, the first leg of the trip was missing..I kept re-reading your post on page 48. Tonight, I drove to the PO and back recording the track in GPX and saved it, using MapSource. I am happy. I completed a long trip using the hidden log. Alas. The logged time is not local time, but Universal time. Can I change this? I like the tracks to agree with the time on my camera. |

That's gpx standard, time is UTC: http://www.topografix.com/gpx_manual.asp#time Your software should change UTC to local time. Alternatively you can input time difference into field "time" on wNtrak, this will correct all time values.

I am lost. I loaded the gpx file into Excel. Column g ns1:time 11/17/2010 20:15 I want to subtract 5 hours to achieve local time. I have over 5000 points to convert.

| You can subtract time when converting from bin into gpx. There is an option in nutrak. |

MonkeyBoy4u, You can purchase these units, they both support raw tracklog. Please read www.gpspassion.com/upload2/HiddenTrackLogHowTo.pdf
popej, I have nuvi 1410 that logs in another format. I sent you email with track examples.

I noticed that the Garmin nuvi 1450 and the 1490 both have the same weight as per garmin specs.
Is there a way to enable the wireless on the 1450? |

Welcome to the forum.
You may wish to do a forum Google search to see if we have dealt with your question before. If not, you may want to open a new topic to ask your question as this thread is dealing with "raw logging" and not the features, or lag of them, between various models.
Thanks. |

Tried this on my 3760 - but can't work out how to stop it.
I can press the stop icon on the screen, but every time it turns on while in the cradle it will start a new log. |

| Looks like the Log function on the 2350 is accessed via the Speed button again; I seem to have the best luck with holding my finger over the direction indicator for about 5 seconds. |
