Some confusion here.
The power button is not the button that starts up the unit. It is the button that appears on the top right indicating how much "battery power" the unit have after start up. (only appear after you press agree) The button on the left (same screen) will give you the satellite links if pressed. Hope it helps

I put it on my bike (motorcycle... screw the Zumo for now) and it worked fine. I'll be curious to see what it recorded. A lot of lower Alabama recorded tonight.

the new nuvi firmware 4.60 for the 7X0 series is out...anyone know if its possible to mod for tracklog enabling ?
it seems to have at least one tracklog related function. hitting down arrow in the hidden message banners screen says - starting a new track log (up arrow shows updating screen firmware).

Hi All,
I have been trying to follow the conversation re the Logging capabilities of the Nuvi range, especially the 700. etc
Who could help me with a summary of which latest Nuvi models are able to log tracks, at what resolution and does it "lock on road". Do you need a specific software version?

new 2X5 models come with "trip log" feature.
is that "locked on road" or is it the raw position just as the old 200 firmware? |

Hi to all; I'm new to this site and navigation systems in general.

I bought a new 205 nüvi in Austria... but there seems no "Track log" function available. I read most of this thread, but most of these don't seem to apply to my nuvi 205 (SW-Vers.: 4.6; GPS SW: 2.55b).
I would (naturaly) be VERY interested in this feature, but all "secret buttons" ("Sattelite", "Power Symbol", "Speedo'meter") don't show any tracking buttons.
Please inform me, if I missed something or how to enable this great feature.

That's right, no hacked firmware für Nüvi 205.

205 has native tracklog. Please, read the manual. Unfortunately, this tracklog is generalized and 'locked' on road.
2x5 and 2x5w also have code, that probably can write hidden tracklog. Next task is to activate it too.
Now I'm working for 4.60 nuvi710.

Thank you for the reply. I'm a bit confused: There is no reference to be found about how to record, export or handle "track log" in my manual. quote:
