Thanks for the feedback Chemonq. I don't know if I will fix this missing card bug ... Meanwhile, I've posted a new release v1202 with a correct computation of the checksums for NMEA files.
The geotagging software LOCr needs that checksums in NMEA file be computed.

Hi All, if anybody here ;-)
There was a remaining bug in my RBT2300 PPC dumper. When generating plt files for OZI explorer, the program added here and there some empty lines which genrated some glitches on the track display with oziCE.
This is now fixed in version 1203

As usual I am here. I downloaded and installed the new version and it works for me. I guess the bug didn't affect my use as I haven't had any issues.
Thanks, |

| Aeropic you are a champion. The software you have provided is really handy. I cannot read or speak French but it's simple enough to use anyway. The only thing I could not figure out was how to download all (or lots) of tracks at once, rather than one at a time; is this possible? |

Hey, can someone send me the Firmware upgrade for the RGM-3800? I'd need it till tomorrow, for my vacation on saturday... but they're currently rebuilding their homepage..
Second question: I've to pay some special attention? I heard some people screwed their device with the new firmware?!
Third question: Can I place the tracker in a (plastic) roof-box on the car or is it better under the windshield?
Greetings & thanks in advance |

blueavatar,
Thank you for the feedback. To download several files at a time you just need to select "X" in the second combo box. This is the default value.
When X is checked, all the RBT files recorded in the same mode during the same day starting with the selected file will be downloaded in a single PC file. eg : assuming you get 6 files stored in the memory :
0-20080501 mode 1 1-20080501 mode 1 2-20080501 mode 1 3-20080501 mode 2 4-20080501 mode 2 5-20050502 mode 2
dumping file 1 will store 1+2 dumping file 3 will store 3+4
Bye Alain
PS : Hi Chemonq, nice to see you are here ;-) |

Hello Alain, Your software is great, Thank You! I have royaltek rbt 2300 and an acer n310 and lets me do it all without a computer. I like the .plt output. I'll try the PC version, too. |

Thank you, Dmarron for your feedback. I'm working right now on an international version with translated MMI into any langage user will wish. As soon as it is ready, I'll inform users on this forum.
I'll seek volunteers to translate from french or english into other langages ...

Hi All,
You can now get your (favorite) PPC RBT2300 datadownloader software with a MMI in your native language.
Just go on aeropic : http://aeropic.free.fr/RBT_2300 - download the last release v1300 (.CAB link) - download the english language pack (a zip file including MMI.txt and a read_me.txt) - read the read_me and follow the instructions
You'll be able to use the soft in (my-poor) english. You can even customize it to your own vocabulary or even translate it to new languages ! In that case, please, send me back improvments in the form of MMI_language.txt files and I will include them in the future releases.
thanks in advance for any collaboration ! Alain |

Hi, I have just bought an RBT-2300 but I am having problems. I have tried connecting to it using Windows Mobile 6 on my PDA, I have tried using a laptop with built-in bluetooth and I have tried using my desktop with a USB Bluetooth dongle. I get the same problem with all of them, they cannot download the data.
On the desktop and the laptop I get the error "Can't Get Response from DataLogger" after it tries four times to "Retrieve Logger Header" Command. (The "Get Logger Configuration" command seems to work.)
So, I tried aeropic's program, again on all three platforms. That seems to be able to connect to the device but it isn't listing any files. I have had the logger on all the way home, and on my last trip out, so there should be data to download. How do I know if the logger is working properly? Does it just automatically start logging as soon as it gets a satellite lock? I tried programming it with Aeropics software, and it seems to take the configuration, but how can I be certain?
I know the GPS is working because I have run TomTom, and the GPSDemo, and Google Maps. They all work with it as a GPS receiver, but I can't seem to get it to work as a DataLogger.
Please, Please can someone help??? |

Hi silverbandit,
Under aeropic software please answer the following questions and follow the procedure : (it would be simpler to work on a PC rather than PPC as some PPC have difficulties with bluetooth stack ...
0- Switch ON you GPS near a window and wait for the fix (green LED stable). 1- I assume you can connect the device when openning the serial port ==> select the right port and connect the GPS via bluetooth 2- check at the bottom line that you see latitude, longitude and time when the RBT is fixed (a green square is present in the right corner, the time is incrementing) 3- try to erase the whole memory (press ERASE then confirm) ==> you should see an amber LED flashing on the RBT2300 during 30 sec or so. Once finished the green LED should light again on the RBT
This would confirm you can interact with the device in write configuration. Do this step 3 whatever the results of step 2
4- let the device in this state during 1 minute or so (it should store data in a new file) 5- press the LISTE button on aeropic, you should see a file: "0-date, a set of other parameters" 6- click on this file name and answer yes when requested to dump
At each step 1 to 6, please note your observations and let me know the results.
