I know people toyed with the c310x... but has anyone done it on the c520. I know the c520 supports SDIO via the inbuilt sd slot, but who has actually used an sd-wifi adapter successfully? If so - which adaptor did you use, and did you require any extra dll's. Also which browser?

Along with a browser (Internet Explorer) to use, ... Is there a place to LEGALLY get the WinCE 5.0 Windows Explorer? The C520 has it in its Windows directory, but I do not want to take it from there (even if one could copy it). The C220 apparently does not contain a "Windows Explorer" at all. |

| I am thinking of buying a SpecTec one. It is designed for windows ce users so I can't see why it wouldn't work. It appears that sandisk no longer sells the memory+wifi on the same SD card, as that is what I really need since my RAM on the c520 has to remain untouched (work), so I need storage space aswell as wifi. |

I just purchased a Spectec SDIO Wireless LAN Card WLAN 802.11b/g Model : SDW821 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280190544266
They claim this is compatible with MS Windows CE v5.0. If anything is going to work, this would probably be it!
I'm running indabox's MioPocket v1.2 unlock and seems to be doing well. http://www.lpcsolutions.com/miopocket/miopocket.zip
I expect to receive the wifi card soon. Any suggestions on methods for installation? I'm a noob on GPS devices... enlighten me!

sethryan,
from what I know there is a difference between WM5.0 and CE5.0. according to this site they have drivers only for WM5.0. http://www.spectec.com.tw/Download.htm#wlan you should start by installing the drivers ... if that work then come the hard part ... you have to figure out the dlls needed for network to work. After that using the platform builder (Platform Builder 5.0) to figure out what registry are missing. Alin |

hi all, a starting point is: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms880997.aspx If some one is generating a OS with the right SYS_GEN variables ... then add those dlls (and registry settings) maybe will work. I think you need to add SYSGEN_ETH_80211, SYSGEN_PPPOE, SYSGEN_IPSEC, SYSGEN_NETLOG, SYSGEN_NDIS (maybe SYSGEN_NETUTILS), SYSGEN_TCPIP, SYSGEN_IPHLPAPI, SYSGEN_WINSOCK. Some of them are included in mio OS ... Anyway I don't have the hardware to do tests ... but for those interested should be a starting ... Alin |
