I've read various comments about the known water/land inversion problem, but had not encountered it with my maps until now. I have one county where it inverted apparently when I was too close to the ocean with lots of water on the screen and zoomed in or out.

I have searched, but not found any solutions or work-arounds. At first it was no big deal, but now some whole areas of roads are missing. I tried deleting the map from my device, then re-loading from my PC but that didn't work.

How do I get the map right again?

There is no solution, nor will there be since Mapopolis will not be releasing any new maps. Try hitting the + on the bottom bar to see if increasing details will bring the roads back. The other possibility is that the roads you are missing are newer then the maps.

I have already tried zooming in and out to no avail. The roads were there before and they are not new roads. All the blue is now labeled "St. John's River" Maybe Mapopolis thinks the roads are flooded in some areas but not others!

I have one other county that has inverted, but the road detail is still there (so far!).

The lack of street detail has rendered the one county almost useless. I can deal with the wrong color, but most streets missing is too much.

Does it help to completely wipe out Mapopolis and start over? These things were not issues originally.

I haven't had a situation where roads disappeared. Possibly your map was somehow corrupted. If you have an archived version of the county, try that.

I do have archived copies of the maps, so I will try that. Thanks.

I completely un-installed Mapopolis and re-installed it and at least got the roads back. The water is still inverted in 2 counties, I guess I have to live with it. It doesn't make sense on the surface that a complete un/re-install from the original files would not remedy the problem, but I'm sure there's a technical explanation.

The water inversion error is a known error with the latest maps from Mapopolis. It was scheduled to be fixed, but never was before they went out of the business, so yes, you will have to live with it as long as you continue to use Mapopolis.

I just experienced this problem for the first time while on vacation in Hawaii. The roads were still visible (maybe because I have changed the color scheme); they just appeared to be going right through the ocean. This happened intermittantly and would prevent attempts at creating new routes. It did not really disrupt navigation all that much and seemed much more a visual annoyance.

- and it means you have to keep your windows rolled up in the water areas!
