Mapopolis software has always been great.

So far I only have one ( and noted very recent ) problem.

When I have my e740 using Mapopolis with a Pharos CF GPS, and Nydidot (I use it in my truck while in landscape mode) - Mapopolis when dragging the map created a very odd screen image with a lot of artifacts.

This could be a big problem on CE devices with larger displays and in landscape mode.

Other than above - no problems - nothing & I still highly recommend it over everything else.

Ah that's good info.
I've pretty much given up on these landscape displayers for PocketPC, I found that they slowed down the system quite a bit and results were sometimes odd.
Do you use it all the time?

As for usage I use landscape about 70% of the time.

The primary reason for using it in landscape is while in my truck while driving.

Having my e740 mounted with the buttons to the left (Jog dial / record button on top). This mounting is the most natural & convenient way for me also.

As for speed, it is slower, but as PPC 2k2 (or newer) gets optimized for the ATI graphics - that will be slower. However, note the speed differential is not near enough to keep me from using it regularly.

One more note, most other applications handle the rotation very well too - go figure.

JB

FYI,

JB
