However, we potentially don't get any fixes from Mio. And then again, Mio and Nav N Go could kiss and makeup... Mark
I don't see it as a negative at all. When was the last time we got an "official" US update, maps or software from Mio??? Except for the pathetic C310X update, NEVER! If iGo is smart which I believe they are, they have now potentially millions of new customers which they can sell updates. They can make an update for all the Mios practically overnight and with their eyes closed. I would not hold my breath to get now any updates from Mio, beside I don't want any Navman software. I am not sure if this is still true but but when I originally got my C310X I was able to swap the original miomap.exe with igo.exe and you could not tell difference. Maybe now we will get some respect and not just try to sell us constantly new Hardware!

@outlawsys
Yea, The cab doesn't seem to have the right target data. If you open the xml file in the cab, you can see it looks to be updating this Registry key for timezone data: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones and the data doesn't list the "human display" names for each zone, but has numeric keys.
However, my c520 has timezone data in HKLM\Time Zones and the keys mentioned above don't show up.
I'm sure all we need to patch is the 44 byte TZI key with the correct data. I'm digging for that right now.

@outlawsys Ok, I found a page that lists the data I think we need.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923953 specific zones to US:
GMT-5 Eastern US
HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones\35, TZI, 0x00000001,
2c,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0b,00,00,00,01,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
;GMT-6 Central US
HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones\20, TZI, 0x00000001,
68,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0b,00,00,00,01,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
;GMT-7 Mountain US
HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones\10, TZI, 0x00000001,
a4,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0b,00,00,00,01,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
;GMT-8 Pacific US
HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones\4, TZI, 0x00000001,
e0,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0b,00,00,00,01,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
Just need to turn this into a reg file for regedit and we should be done.
(edit) I just compared my current values to the Eastern one listed above and it is the same :( This must be the old rule data....back to Google.
(edit2) I was successfull in updating a WM6 PDA phone I have using the M$ Cab. Weird part now is the TZI data is the same now on both the Mio and the PDA phone for my zone. There must be something else different to look for then. The page listed above does say it is for the new rules. |

To fix the US timezone setting for Mio CX20 (and possibly for other models too) do the following:
1. Download this skin: http://rapidshare.com/files/98272428/MioPlus_Timezones.zip. 2. Place the MioPlus_Timezones.zip file into your MioMap/Skin folder. If you already have any other skin in this folder that includes CONFIG\TimeZones.ini file, replace this file in your skin by its new version from the archive you just downloaded. 3. Modify your SYS.TXT to make sure it includes the following lines in [interface] section:
[interface]
show_timezoneslider=1
reset_os_timezone=1
4. Start MioMap, goto Settings -> Language -> Set Date & Time Format. You should see the "Time Zone" slider in there. Depending on the skin you are using this slider could be in some other place. Make sure your correct time zone is selected. Just in case change it to somethinf else, and then back to your correct zone. 5. Go to "GPS Status" screen, Select "Time Sync" and make sure "Auto correction" is checked. 6. Restart MioMap, or even do the soft reset of your Mio just in case. From now on the US DST time should be changing automatically and correctly.
Cheers, Teddy |

@teddy_b That is interesting. So, Miomap has it's own TZ data. That answers why I just proved that the OS itself has the correct reg entries. Good job. |

After restarting, did you wait until MioMap obtains the GPS fix, and synchronizes the time? Note that the time synchronization may tike some additional time (from a few secs to about a minute) after GPS fix is obtained...
My Mio had this fix applied for a while, and no other patches or fixes for DST. This morning after I started it the time was correct. |

| FYI i tried this on the C220 and it didn't work, which is ok i guess since i don't use that one anymore. My C320 works just fine and so much easier to edit. |

Any way to incorperate the "Map Screen With Small Side Panel" from Jerry Skin to the J&T Multimedial Skin?? Additionally, I like to see the POI's in 3D mode, is there a way to show these also....on Jerrys' skin
thanks again |

> Place the MioPlus_Timezones.zip file into your MioMap/Skin folder Hmm, I don't see a MioMap/Skin folder on my C320... Ideas? (or MioMap/MioMap/Skin, for that matter. |
