You should have room enough on your iGO SD card for Moonbear's unlock files, but you'll have to check for sure. You will need to keep your iGO card inserted, to run that porgram, so it's best if you can configure things that way.

Moonbear's method uses a separate "desktop" program called Sysinfo, so that program has to be there. I've never tried removing the SD card with the unlock files on it and try to access the various programs, I suspect that things will fail under those circumstances.

Although Moonbear's desktop has an iGO icon on it, you may have to go into the .ini files (included in the unlock files) and point to the exact place that your iGO executable is stored.

A "hard reset" on the C520 is when you hold the power button down for more than 5 seconds or so and select (As I recall) RESTART on the option screen. Don't have my C520 with me to check. A quick tap of the power button is simply a "suspend" mode, and the C520 will return to where it was (without rebooting) when you tap it again.

If you take the card out the icons for program files will disassociate and not work.

So it seems like I need to make sure I have room for the 3 MB or so for moonbears files on my IGO Sd card or it will not work

@supremo

Have you had a chance to mull over my windows explorer delima? I have not heard from moonbear either. I hope he is still around.

AndreVH exported a registry file from his factory c520 and sent it to me. It was a scary thing because my exported.reg files are 40KB and his is 171KB. I bit the bullet and tossed it in and no ill effects but WE still fails.

Is Windows CE on the mio supplied DVD?

thanks

So if i just want to use my IGO when I go overseas can I use the mio map that comes with the unit here in the Us with the mio maps and only insert and unlock the IGO SD card with the other igo maps with moonberas files when overseas ? Sounds like when I take out the IGO sd card it will revert back to the original MIO state as I bought it here in the Us ?

Harrygps- that is correct, a hard reset w/o the SD card will revert the unit back to OEM status.

Rock - haven't been able to discern why you have the problem.

I was able to bring up the menu few times. After that is started working until the next hard reboot.

I am trying to figure out the required steps to make it work consistantly. They worked few times, but failed few times also.

What works most of the time :
Launch TomTom.
Wait until signal is acquired.
Tap on button to turn screen off.
Tap on button to turn screen on.
Menu starts working.

Are you also running 6.201?

Anyone trying to find a working GX.DLL for the 520, I've found one that ALMOST completely works. It's on this page:

http://hpcmonex.net/izemize.htm

Scroll down to "gx dlls" (description begins "well usually you just need...") Download this and install the GX.DLL from folder #5.

When I did this suddenly the demos in the GAPI setup work except for #2.

Anyone who knows a better GX.DLL specifically for the 520 please advise.

Oops, excuse me, a slight correction; the GX.DLL mentioned passes ALL the GAPI tests. I didn't understand the nature of the second one until I tried again. Works great! I now have MorphGear working, haven't actually tried any roms in it yet.

@therock

I sent you a mail with screen captures of an explore screen.
What is wrong with your unit ? Dll missing ? Errors in rom (i hope not) ?

Thanks, I'm betting on a .dll problem. I need a full set from somewhere.
Is there a WinCE on the mio DVD disk?
