I've modified my program for the mac. No more port number and I've changed the default device name. It should work first time right (can't test it though!).
I've also added a possibility to override the portname (see README.txt).
I do hope it works! |

It is true that there is some functionality difficult to understand without documentation. Some explications are in my replies in the forums of the project. Some people promised to help with the documentation, but for the moment, the only one written by a user is in German: http://bt747.wiki.sourceforge.net/Dokumentation+-+Deutsch .
If there is something specific you want information on, I'll reply, as far as documentation is concerned: maybe I'll get some thrust for writing that, we'll see.

Hi mdeweerd, thx for your answer. Yes, i read the german documentation (easy for me, i'm from germany) too, but there are some new features not described there. Thx for your offer to answer about specific questions. Did you prefer the questions here in this thread or on your project site ?

I think it is best to keep them on the project site. |

I use PPC to run the PPC_ARM version of BT747 configuration software, but when click 'open com port' button to connect to my bt747 with bluetooth, nothing happen, I don't know if the connection success or not. Can you add some prompt in next version , when connection success or fail, display some messages let user know whether connection is successful, or can't open comm port?
My bt747 haven't resistor-hacked now, but I can use GPSView to set 5Hz with USB cable in PC. So my question is, the purpose of resistor-hacked is for communicate with bluetooth? if my bt747 not resistor-hacked, the BT747 configuration software will never run ? |

Hi, you can run BT747 without the resistor-hack from your pc using the USB-connection. |

Yes, I can confirm it does work on OS X. Tested on Tiger through USB (still missing a soldering kit) and it works fine.
Just in case other people experience the same problem, the first time I started bt747 it was complaining of a "NoSuch Port Exception". This was due to the missing /var/lock directory (full permissions required). Not very obvious, hence I thought it would be worth mentioning this here...
No need for vmware & datalog anymore... thanks! |

Is there any chance of showing the TIME on the Q1000 Control program. PhotoGeotagging relies on the GPS time being synced exactly to the cameras clock. Currently im still using the Original PC utility to get the time from it.
BTW, I coulnt get it working on my Intel MacPro :( its my Work Machine so I dont wanna start fiddling.I'll wait until there's a .dmg installer app for it.. if at all?!! ;)
ADDED: Sorry about this.. i just found the java version (been using the MSDOS looking one (big fonts). The java one seems to forget the file paths for the log file even if i apply the settings. So everytime i download the log i have to set the path names.. annoying. thanks again.
Also, how did you get the PPC version going? Does it run on WM6 Professional? This is particulalry important as im going away and need to download the log files to my WM6 Phone rather than lugging my laptop around.
I'll post another 300 questions tomorrow when i get up! Thanks ;) |

If somebody with a Mac makes a .dmg installer then you'll get it. HOwever, there are not that many Mac users of this app I think (and I am not one of them!).
Concerning the settings: I suppose that you got it working a Mac and apparently the settings are not saved there?! I've changed tha application so that you can define your settings file now. It could be that the changes that I made, make it work without a change - otherwise you need to add '-Dbt747_settings' to the java invocation. This has been implemented in version 1.12 . |

It seems that your mac is not the same as the other ones (does not have /bin/bash.
You should find out how to start a java program on your mac and adapt the script that you launched (not using /bin/bash for one thing).
You could try http://bt747.sourceforge.net/BT747.jnlp , but you should not use that link for anything else than a trial. |
