I just got the tomtom navigator 6 for my PN-820 windows mobile smartphone (after reports that 5.2 works fine). It does not seem to install properly. Help!! I spent $150 on it and tomtom does not allow SW returns !!
Here's what I did: 1) Connect phone to computer via USB 2) Insert the DVD, install the tomtom home 3) In tomtom home on pc, click on install to tomtom, click the appropriate checkboxes (program and maps), select SD card, let it install everything for an hour 4) dialog box pops up on PC telling me to remove SD card and reinsert it in order to install application on the phone. Did so. Nothing happens. No programs installed. 5) Tried to run all the executables and the autorun file on the SD card directly from the phone. Nothing happens. 6) Tried to run the .cab files on the SD card from the phone. Seems to be doing something for a little bit, but then I get a gwes.exe error. No programs installed. 7) Behaviour exactly the same when I copy files to main memory and run from there, of if I choose "main memory" as the installation target in the beginning.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks.
Just for my information, where does it say that TTN6 is incompatible with WM5 smartphones? How can a newer version be more platform dependent?!
Is there or will there be an update/bugfix/hack to make TTN6 compatible with WM5 smartphone?
If not, is there anything I can do to recover my $150? Tomtom wouldn't take it back, even though I haven't activated it. Haven't tried asking them if they can exchange for TTN5. But maybe someone on this forum wants it? (Mint condition, never used or activated, willing to knock a bit off the price.) |
