Does anyone knows anything about the new Qualcomm gpsOne chip? It seem to be utilize in Smartphone and now starting to appear on WM6 phone.

I can't seem to find any info on this new chipset.

Let me hear the expert.

I've seen it used on the Siemens SXG75, terrible performance, endless TTFF.
The HTC P3600 uses a Qualcomm chipset too, but it is apparently called the 6275, not sure if it's the "ONE" and it works much better, even though TTFF is still slower than SiRFstarIII on average and the tracks are not very accurate. Which WM6 phone did you have in mind ?

I was looking into the HTC s730. It has the Qualcomm MSM7200 gpsOne chipset.

I was wondering if the performance on this chipset is on par with the SiRFIII.

Well the 6275 in the P3600 doesn't for sure and I'm not sure what the SXG 75 used but GPS performance was even worse (edit - found out it's the 6250), which would seem to indicate that there are varations in the performance of gpsONE , although this page http://www.cdmatech.com/products/gpsone.jsp doesn't really hint at that. Logically, the more powerful the chipset, the more correlation power there is to decode GPS signals.

Besides I was told by Orange that they coulnd't implement their excellent SUPL-AGPS solution (used on the M650/P3300) on the M700/P3600 because is was not A-GPS compatible, odd since the gpsONE page says it is.

The actual Qualcomm chipsets are listed here http://www.cdmatech.com/products/mobile_processors.jsp
