I have put together a POI of 607 Subaru dealerships in the USA. The archive includes a CSV with the following fields:
Lon
Lat
Dealership Name
Street
City
State
Zip
Telephone
It also has a 24x24 Subaru BMP and a GPX template that correctly maps the fields if you use a higher function POI generator like Simon's Mac Garmin Tools.

The file was generated with information from the Subaru website. Each state listing of dealerships was displayed then the HTML source mined for needed data. HTML tags were stripped using a combinaton of Word and Excel. Field splitting and formatting was done in Excel.

| I've noticed many dealerships are off by several hundred feet. There is a problem in many of these POI databases that appears to be due to inaccuracies in Yahoo and/or Googles algorithms. Too bad. |

| I've uploaded a new zip with a more accurate, 6 decimal precise, properly formatted poi for USA Subaru dealerships. http://www.gpspassion.com/upload/poinusa/guggie_usasubarudealerships.zip This archive contains a bmp, a 4 column csv with long/lat name and phone number, as well as a separate csv with additional columns containing street address, city, and state. Simply copy the subaru.csv and subaru.bmp into their own directory and use poiloader from Garmin to upload to your GPS. Enjoy! |

I was near San Antonio and wanted to have my relatively new car scanned for any problems during the 3 day trip from home. Courtesy of the Subaru file I found the North Park Subaru dealer with ease. They do not do service work there.
I was sent down the street to North Park Lincoln Mercury for service. They are at 9207 San Pedro, San Antonio, TX, 78216. Specs from Google Earth. Lon: -98.499370.
Lat: 29.524086. Service Direct number: 1-210-341-8811.
Not sure how many dealerships work this way, but thought I would let the authors know of this particular set up. |
