Someone mentioned before, by hold reset while turn on power switch, mio will enter to a hardware utilities. I have tried it, and copy down the menus. So far, doesn't have anything I can play with. Maybe somebody can dig in.

Mostly, it looks like stuff that one should not try.
Possibly these might be useful or interesting:
0=Memory Test (is it non-destructive?, it is RAM or FLASH?)
1=ROM CheckSum (useful only if one knows what it should be)
2=Gps Test (maybe? ... )
So, I am fearful to to test here. Sorry!

Is it the hard reset switch or soft reset that has to be used when turning on the power? I tried the soft reset with power switch but nothing happened. Still hesitate to do the hard reset test.

I think the exact method stated was do a hard reset, and while that was occurring do a soft reset. Me, I don't have the cajones (yet) to try anything on the menu, looks like factory stuff (ROM Flash? What is "UBOOT" ??). But don't let me stop anyone...

Can anyone confirm if this works on a C710? I haven't been able to get it to work but then I'm not sure about the exact method.

Uboot is the term that Mio has used for firmware update files and methods for its devices - for example the A701.

Gareth.
