I'm using Mapopolis since few months and it works great. The way I use it is that I have downloaded the maps and copied them to a SD card. I have read the post: Posted - 10/19/2006 by Lamar on creating a NavCard. For now, I don't see any difference on creating a NavCard or copying maps to a SD card. May be I'm little bit hard to understand. So, I decided to ask these questions:
1- What is the advantage of creating a NavCard versus using SD card?
2- Why does the mapopolis program has to search for maps everytime you start the program even if you did not install new maps?
3- If there is an advantage of creating the NavCard, can you give me more explanation on the way of doing it? May be I'm missing something in Lamar's topic... I really need step- by-step explanation...
It might look stupid questions but if you can help me to understand, I really appreciate your help...

Hi, Bussie,
Welcome to the forums.
It's called the "Evolution" version because it's an in-between product. Earlier this year, we were directed to create a NavCardlike product for the Pocket PCs. This would mean porting the big regional maps from the Palm NavCard to the Pocket PC platform. This version was an attempt to create a product like that WITHOUT porting over the maps. We still plan to do the port, so this is a step in the program's evolution from the standard map handling to what will be virtually no map handling with the PPC NavCard.
The main benefits it brings are a base-map approach and a notion that one should be able to operate the program knowing the names of cities without having to worry about the names of counties. It also has the flexibility to function like the 4.71 version if you choose. It's not an "all or nothing" thing.
As for creating the card, please go back and read the very first part of that other thread. If you still would like some help, ask there in that thread.
Thanks,
