| Anyone reading this topic would "Assume" this file is for all Esso Canada's across the Country. But that is not the fact. Many post the name of the topic as "Esso Canada stations PQ, ON, SK," to show what areas are logistically input. When I looked at the CSV file I saw multiple province and did not dig deep enough to see if BC was included. When it was uploaded into my Garmin I noticed it never showed an alert ( set to 50 meters ) which all my other POI's are set for. This may sound like a hassle but at 50 meters it really is not.. I had to remove this one as well as Shell ( both I use the most ) as they became useless to me.. Blaster you seem to have a great POI file but it needs a bit better indication of where it can be used.. |

Hi chudon,
Esso and Shell were created for Canada stations across the country. Your correct that there are no Esso POI in BC and I do apologize. Upon creating POI there were no ESSO found and therefore you have none entered in the CSV file.
Since there were no complaints from BC until today I wasn’t aware of this. In some point in time I did mention in the forum that if their mistakes or missing POI that I may have missed to please post any updates.
Esso’s website wasn’t that bad in searching for their stations, but Shell was awful. I even emailed a complaint that there search engine isn’t up to standards. I tried my best in using Mapsource and other points of information. Since your are located in BC area it would be a great help and start to entering those POI. In the Ontario and Quebec provinces users have posted updates such as SpeedPass, ATM’s, newly created stations, etc…
In the coming months I will look into both Esso and Shell POI and make any changes that there may need be and also create POI for other devices such as the TomTom.

| Hey Blaster2004, I managed to get a Full Shell Canada Excel spreadsheet with all the stations in Canada. I am working on Esso but with my work and kids and all I am bandwidth limited. I can send you the spreadsheet and you can merge the cells as you wish or you can wait till I have some time to work on this ( limited ). But this thing is complete.. |

Hi chudon,
I have started correcting the POI for Esso and adding new ones as well. It's that is will take time as you mentioned. Esso has updated there website very well and that it will be a great help sine last time I checked.
Due in time I will be posting updates every week hopefully Sunday's.
Any spread sheet is welcomed of course. I will be adding what's missing and get everything up to date very soon.
