Noni, a member of the FRA forums recently came up with an interesting program that acts like a "chart plotter", something pretty unique. It also records tracks, handles waypoints, measures distances, etc...It's in French so far, but give it a try and we can help with translation issues ;-) |

My high school French is almost all forgotten.
This is a very useful program - I have been able to record and save traces and export to Google Earth format.
However I have not been able to add a waypoint. It seems to me that when I try (ajouter un point?), the programs stops tracing or hangs.
Could someone clarify how to add a waypoint?

It's an Eten G500+ - WM5, rom 80 (same behaviour on rom 61). Nonigps is running off the shared port com2. |

Hello, The V2.50 has been published and is now available in English... Sorry if the translation is not really satisfactory.
Noni.

Works like a charm! Great little program with lots of nice features. The translation is well done aswell. The only thing I spotted was the "Eracse the track" button on the main menu. On previous versions I had a problem with the track not drawing properly when reaching the screen edge. Not so anymore. One question though: What does the "+ Cape and distance" checkbox on the "Add Point" dialogue do? |

Thks .cab is now available.
The "+cape and distance" displays the cape relative to the current position and the distance between the point and the current position for the point. And, if you are moving in direction of this point, the remaining time. Ex:

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. The navinfo pops up when the waypoint is set as Active or Displayed (not inactive). One more question: Is there any way of importing waypoints from a file? I have geocaching in mind so ability to import .loc or .gpx files would be nice. |

Wow, very cool
I'm hoping to get a GPS receiver for my PDA and was taking a look at the available software when I came across this. Thanks for making it freeware - it looks good. Of course I can't do much with it without the GPS receiver, but from a quick play around I thought I'd make a few suggestions for the English version (thanks for taking the trouble to translate it!)
When it says "click downstairs" I think this would read better as "click below" or "tap at the bottom"
Also, when it says "...to display Coordinated" I assume this should be "...to display coordinates"?
As someone else pointed out, "Eracse the track" should be "Erase the track"
In the setup menu, it would perhaps be better to label "Key" as "Hardware buttons" for clarity and best consistency with other PPC programs.
The only other thing I've noticed is that when there is no data, the status bar at the bottom displays "okm/h om om", I wonder if this is deliberate or whether it should read "0km/h 0m 0m"?
Is there anywhere i can get a sample data file from to load up and have more of a play before I get the GPS receiver?
Thanks again!
