New Tim Hortons
I don't have the address and it's not on the web site yet. Full Tim's, access from one side of the street only.
-73.50704, 45.37081

Coordinates taken from across the street. This is a new shopping center being built at the intersection of route 132(H15) and highway 30. There is already a new Costco in this development.

Hi, I just received an excel file from tim hortons that has their entire listing. I am not sure how to manipulate it to a usable format. I would upload it if I could but can't figure out how. Contact me if you want the list and I can send it.

Rick's been kind enough to email me the file. It has over 300 additional entries. I'll encorporate the additions/changes in the next update. I go through a slower-but-surer geocoding process, so it may take about a week, but stay tuned...

Thanks to Dewi and Rick for your time and effort in this Tim Horton's POI - will be very useful when my wife and I go down East(Atlantic Canada) this summer.

I'm a newbie when it comes to a GPS and today I purchased my 1st GPS an IPAQ 310 (HP unit).
I did some research before buying and based on our needs, this should be an okay unit - GPS passions forum was a good source of info.

Could someone give me direction on how to upload an excel file into the IPAQ 310 - would be most appreciated.
I read the manual (downloaded pdf on line file) and there is no mention of bulk POI's uploading to the unit.

Also if anyone on this forum lives in Canada - Ontario and owns an IPAQ 310, I would appreciate any feedback - can email from my user profile.
I would like to know what POI's come loaded with the unit for Canada.

Sorry folks for being long winded - and also if this is in the wrong forum, again any help is appreciated - many thanks.

Hergi

Dewi and others,
Thanks for the great POI. As most, I'm addicted to Tim's.
I wouldn't mind helping checking the accuracy of some locations in my travels so do you have any "rules"? How close do you want the coords? Are you pinning them to a particular spot like the driveways or parking lot entrance?
Also, what is the colour code convention you are using in the .xls file? Should we be following this to check and not repeat work already done by others?
Thanks.

Generally, they are geocoded to the street address not the actual building location. The reason for this is that the primary purpose of the file is to get people who are driving to the nearest location and sometimes if the location is placed deep within a commercial lot it can be outside the range of an individual's proximity alert setting. If possible, it's helpful to locate the point as a tangent to the proper side of the street and at the driveway closest to the building location.

The colour codes have to do with revision stages to the original (mors') data...you can ignore the colours.

Sorry for the delay on the additions...just like the first set of revisions I made I totally underestimated the time it would take to go through them.

Hi Rick,

I was referring to your file when I mentioned in my previous post that there's a delay with the additions to the POI data. I'm cross-referencing the two data sets to determine which ones are in fact new and which ones simply have different or new info. Although I have the phone number field as a good matching reference, there's a lot of different info, so I haven't even got to the geocoding of the new locations yet (lots of new ones, I'm finding, are in the US and Quebec). Also, I've noted that there are some locations in the file you sent that actually have closed/moved (e.g. the Warden Woods location moved across the street -- the file contains both the old and new locations). So sorry, but it's going to be a little while longer.

Dewi

P.S. I was actually enjoying a double-double as I read your post...got the all-too-familiar "Please Play Again". :(

Thanks for the info. I'll stick with the program as I check them out.

As was previously mentioned, Tim Hortons has partnered with Garmin to put their logo on the Nuvi screen:

Can we get other co's to do the same? Starbucks, In-n-Out, anyone?

CDN Rower,

I am not sure where you saw the post on parntering with Tim Hortons? There is no partnering as far as I know.
