TTN responded to my email... Thank you very much for your e-mail. You are correct, our FM transmitter has gone down. We are currently on-site trying to repair it as well as add a new back-up transmitter in the event that this should happen again. Please pardon the interruption, we are working to get service restored as soon as possible. |

| As of 4:30 I was getting the traffic signals again. It looks like the transmitter is up again |

Yep - I got the same response as Dewi from TMC. I was hoping to get a response along the lines of "we're updating the service", but that wasn't the case.
Traffic data was flowing again in the evening.
As much as we complain about the traffic data not being thorough/complete enough, I can tell you that I missed it when it wasn't there - instead I was waiting for reports on the radio and hoping I get them before it was too late. I've become used to pulling up the map on the unit at my convenience and making my own decisions based on the info available. |

I pinged this person below from TMC in May and she could not tell me when they would have the problem fixed in Montreal:

| Anyone in Toronto have a problem receiving the TMC signal today? I was unable to get a lock on the TTN signal, despite seeing a decent 36-40 signal level range. |

Had it for the morning commute - NOT on the afternoon commute.

| I didn't notice an issue between 6:50 and 7:30 this morning or between 4:30 and 5:30 tonight either |

| I have had correspondence with Garmin who indicated... "Thank you for contacting Garmin International. We have had periodical outages with the traffic service in the three major Canadian cities that the coverage is available in. This is something we are aware of and are waiting for a fix from Clear Channel. Because there are different regulations north of the border in regards to how the service is made available, I honestly am not sure of what kind of modifications may need to be made from their end to get the issue corrected. I have heard this is an ongoing thing that should be resolved very soon but I do not have a lot of details as far as what is being done. I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience." |
