| Who knows unless some purchases the auction. I wouldn't be surprised if hpatlik POI's are on his list. |

I am aware of this person selling the data from several months ago and they were evasive about the data. If they have directly copied the data from my file or any other forum, they are in direct violation of this and most forum regulation about selling data. If the long/lat are exactly as I have coded them, I will pursue this further.

Hi hpatlik,
If indeed they are using the long/lat I would further purse the matter. |

Well, for anyone interested, I've uploaded the speedtrap icons I created - they look like Ontario speed limit signs. Speeds from 30-100 are covered (as per the speedtrap db provided by hpatlik) as well as one with a '?' for the blank entries.
In order to use them, you'll have to separate the various speed limits from the main db and create an individual file for each.
Eg:
Icon: Canada - Speed Traps 30.bmp
goes with
db file: Canada - Speed Traps 30.csv
which you'll have to create yourself. You'll have to do the same for the remaining speedtrap limits.
(unless hpatlik would like me to provide the separated db files here as well)
File is here: Canada Speedtrap Icons |

Is there anyway to redistribute the data for free? |

Alright. I had some extra money so I went out and paid for Speed Traps POI list from the following sites in addition to hpatlik's map:
http://shop.gps-poi-us.com/category.sc?categoryId=2 http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras&referer=SideBar http://tinyurl.com/yrxjpr
I dumped them into excel and ran my own formula to conclude the following: They all contain points from each other that are close but not exactly the same. Locations of each are off as much as .0001 of a degree. While the one off of ebay contained the most Speed Traps/red light cameras out of all of them, there were no points that were a direct copy and paste of hpatlik's speed trap POI. While I am not saying that it is not possible that speed traps or any data could be copied, it would be hard to prove. |
