Hello,
as Dennis Gröning has mentioned, P3300 don't send EV_RXCHAR so that the WaitCommEvent function is not valid for read the serial port. Port Splitter don't use this function so that can work as bridge between the gps and other software that wait for this event on serial port.
Also, Dennis say that the hardware port is unaccessible in P3300. Thus, you must connect port splitter to the "program port" of Mobile 5
Searching google....
Sollte dann klappen.

I think that means
In Windows GPS option -> choos as program port Com4 and manage the gps automatically.
Then, in portsplitter Input port: Write com4, baud 4800 Output port: com5, Add, Start.
Then open from gpstuner com5 at 4800

To jaluna:
automatic connection Bluetooth GPS-TMC Reciver(GNS 5843) is impossible to Dell Axim x51v to me. Automatic connection turns out only in a case use of program GpsGate (Virtual com-outport 4) How I can take advantage of program PortSplitter in this case? |

Hello,
read what gpstuner's autor says:
http://www.gpstuner.com/support.htm
I have P3300 PDA (with integrated GPS). When I launch GPS Tuner, I am asked to automatically configure GPS Settings. After a few seconds the screen freeze and I have to soft reset my Pcket PC Seems that the .NET Compact Framework's serial port reader is not fully compatible with P3300 device. There is a workaround for this problem. Please download the free JAL Port Splitter application and install it to your PDA. Before starting GPS Tuner, please start Port Splitter and set your input GPS port (write manually COM4 into the box) and an output virtual port (for example COM5). Then start GPS Tuner and set your GPS port same as Port Splitter's virual port.
My advice: Close all your programs and do a softreset before to try it.
Regards, JAL |

Good morning!
I tried a lot of time, but nothing! In the Input port i write com4, baud 4800 (or other), but i don't see nothing in the output port!!!
Do you have some notice that your port splitter doesn't work on HTC P3300?
Thanks a lot |

I have a P3300 and PortSplitter worked for me. You HAVE TO manually type COM4 (or whatever you've selected as the GPS port in the settings/GPS/programs section of your device), but don't choose "GPS Port" !!! then just choose any virtual COM (I choose COM5) and just start (you HAVE TO check "Manage GPS automatically" in settings/GPS/access otherwise, it does not work)
But I have a question about the "autostart" : it does not seem to change anything for me : ie, I need to start manually PortSplitter if I want my COM5 to be available and it always access my COM4 (GPS) port, so GPS is always ON ... (so I guess power comsumption will be terrible ...) |

My GPS port is not a COM port (f.e. COM4) but has a different name. It's actually called FTD0. Are you only displaying the ports with a COM prefix? Is it possible to remove the check for COMx ports? Doing so I can try out my exotic name "FTD0"
Thx in advance Kuruto |
