I started in 5 months during my lost time to adds a reading a TYP binary file in GENtyp. I have several project for this program, but right now, my lack of time to maintain two application at the same time.
I'm very busy with my job at this time.
I will try to make a version at the earliest. I have to finish two new options in MapSetToolKit at the same time as I started;)

Cool man We all have to earn a living first before we can play. It is very good news for me that you still have the desire to further improve these already great tools as and when time allows. This is really all I needed to hear. I am a very patient man anyway and in English there is a saying that goes: "Beggars can't be choosers". My question was not to put pressure on you, I only needed to know. I am satisfied now and very happy!

Thanks to the steps spelled out on Jackson's site: http://home.cinci.rr.com/creek/garmin.htm By making the map "transparent" it will overlay on the City Select (Navigator) or whatever other map in your unit with very detailed topo.

I am new with this forum and this particular message caught my eye since it is exactly what I am trying to do and even following the steps from Jackson's sight. All steps were going well until I started to add streams, water bodies and roads to the base map. The roads or the water bodies did not match the size of the original map that they were being imported to. (the roads were outside the boundaries of the base map and the water bodies the same)I downloaded the maps from USGS at the same time from the same area. Has anyone else had this problem or am I overlooking something? I am trying to make a topo of Glacier Nat Park since we will be hiking there this summer. If anyone has a topo of that area they would like to share I would be very appreciative. But I would also like to make my maps when I can establish what is not working.

Hi, could you please help me with this question:
how can I protect a map I make so it may not be copied and used everywere? I mean, put it some sort of key so a license is needed for any new SD card the map is going to be used?
I need to convert a map from .img (garmin) to .nm2 (navitel)
This is beacause I want to develope a map to be used in some devices I will sell, but I dont want my competence to just copy the map files and take all the work I did.
Thanks a lot for your help! |

I've been using the posted method for several years to make golf maps. However, I recently developed a web-based tool to streamline the process. You can draw an overlay directly on a Google map. It saves hours of time!

| Very nice tool from Dr B. Could it be possible to load in a previous half-finished file so you can save current work and then come back to it later? [Sorry - ignore the question - you mention how to do this in MapEdit] |

Just tried using GPS Map Manager on my (new) Windows 7 PC to add a custom map so I can see it in Mapsource. For some reason it doesn't work. Looking at the registry it seems to have added the map - but within Mapsource it doesn't come up as listed. It still works when I do exactly the same thing on my (non Windows 7) laptop.
Any ideas? |
