Hi all,
first I think this apps is great. But I tried to use it with my M3000(aka Qtek 9100) and gps bt-338. When using Tomtom, every thing works great. GPS is on port COM6 and Tomtom find it.
So with GPS2Blue, I set :
GPS: COM6 TCP/IP and Push "on"
On my computer, using HW software : IP address: 169.254.2.1 (the one from "What's my IP") Port (both) = 31873 Port Name: COM10 In settings: test with checked/unchecked "don't create VSP port if ping ..." checked HW VSP works as the TCP server only"
TCP/IP connection seems good, but GPS2Blue always reports "GPS port opened. Processing data ... Waiting for bluetooth to be enabled" In HW VSP, the port is created successfully but messages are "Connected" and immediatly "Unconnected"
My bluetooth led indicator on the bt-338 is flashing slowly, indicating no bluetooth connection ... with tomtom it's flashing quickly indicating connection is good ...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. |

| GPS2Blue has not been designed to redirect from an external bluetooth receiver to TCP/IP but why not... Unfortunately, I can't test/debug that because I've no external bluetooth receiver :-(. Is the Windows Mobile 5 GPS Server (GID) present in the Qtek 9100? If yes, you can try with that COM port. |

Ok, I'm sorry I didn't know that GPS2Blue was only for internal GPS
I tried with GPS server, but it hangs when I push the "on" button.
Thank you for your very fast answer
I'll try more during the next WE. |

Ok I tried ... but not good.
One question: is it hard to implement bluetooth support? So we can use a bluetooth gps, connected to pda, and then pda connected to PC :)
Ok I know I can buy a bluetooth dongle for my computer, but I may change later in the year, and buy one with bluetooth internal.
Thank you and great app, even if I can't use it |

I have a question. Previously I had a Ipaq H5555 pocket pc w/BT. I bought a BT GPS to go Geocaching, and I utilized Beeline GPS to do this. I then purchased a Samsung I730 Pocket PC phone edition - WM5. If I download this software onto my Samsung, can I then utilize Beeline GPS on my device for geocaching w/out the external GPS reciever? Sure would be great to use one device for everything.
Thank so much!!! |

| I'm trying not to have to use my GPS BT reciever, and wondered if this software would allow me to eliminate its use and simply use my pocket pc as the gps receiver. |

| er...you're going to need a hadrware GPS receiver at some point anyway, either integrated or Bluetooth ;-) If it were integrated like on the Mio A201, then you would connect to it directly. |

Hi. I've tried gps2blue and it works great, but I tried it with microsoft AutoRoute and it says that it needs a NMEA 2.0 compatible receiver, there's any way to "convert" the signal from the a201 gps protocol to the NMEA 2.0 protocol? Otherwise, do you know other desktop softwares like autoroute that are compatible with the a201?
Thanks |

| A201 is sending NMEA 2.0. But it appears that AutoRoute doesn't like the first sentences sent by GPS when it is turned on. To workaround that, use GID (COM4:) and open the GPS connection with another program on the A201 (VisualGPSCE, Tomtom) before starting AutoRoute. |

Hi!
I just tested the GPS2Blue on my HP iPAQ HW6515, and it seems to work just fine. But another feature request is due. :)
I'm currently not sure if the iPaq is capable of GID (don't think so, running wm2003), so I need to split the internal GPS Com port (com7) to three different com ports on the PDA for every app to work (TomTom, VisualGPSce, GPS2Blue). Then, using GPS2Blue I can redirect one of these com ports to BlueTooth.
I'd like to see com port splitting and virtual port creation included in GPS2Blue, that would make it quite complete for me! PortSplitter, that I'm currently using, does not create many virtual ports, and if I was to use even more apps, I'm out of ports already.
And thanks for a lovely app! :D
Edit: One more thing; I'd like to see a startup option to start and activate GPS2Blue upon booting the PDA.
Edit2: Just being a bit full of ideas here, but what about being able to send ONE GPS packet/position pr definable interval to TCP/IP? Gives us the possibility to reduce GPRS traffic and still keep tracking. ;)
And by the way, I tested the TCP/IP functionality this evening, with the following configured in HW/VSP:
NVT enable : Off NVT filter : Off NVT port setup : Off Keep connection : Off
Log enabled : On TCP server mode : On Create port on start VSP : Off Hide on startup : Off Don't create if ping fail : Off Connect if port is closed : On Start VSP on boot : Off
I forwarded 31873/tcp from my firewall to my laptop on my lan, and configured GPS2Blue to use my external IP in Remote TCP/IP Configuration. Had a walk around my turfs, the PDA with me and the laptop safely inside the house, and MapPoint tracked my movements quite precisely! :D
Only drawback is that GPS2Blue freezes the PDA while trying to connect to the server side. Quite annoying, as I get no response from anything until G2B times out. This is also an issue when enabling TCP/IP without GPRS started. Maybe, just maybe, you'd be able to include a function to automatically initiate GPRS communication upon TCP/IP activation too? ;)
Just a few ideas, but I'd really like to see these functions! :D |

I know it remains several things to improve in GPS2Blue, but I haven't too much time for the moment. I've just added a little function.
Here is V. 1.6: * You can add '/autorun' to the command line to start redirection on GPS2Blue startup.
For example, you can create a shortcut in 'windows/startup' to '"\Program Files\GPS2BlueA201\GPS2BlueA201.exe" /autorun'
Downloadable at GPS2Blue web page.
