J2MEMap For GPS and J2ME Java compatible mobile phones
As seen working on my Sony-Ericson K750i mobile phone and Globalsat BT-338 GPS
What can you do with a GPS, a mobile phone, and...the WEB ?
What is J2ME Map? It's a small interface to GoogleMap - it's free and downloadable here : J2MEMap - or from your phone : http://wap.landspurg.net
Features :
- Browse the entire GoogleMap database.
- Swith from GoogleMap/Satelitte and MSN Virtual Earth Maps and Satellite.
- Switch between satellite or map view.
- Zoom in/zoom out .
- Do request to google maps, and show results on screen.
- Save your favorite locations.
- Have access to some RSS feed to discover some new locations.
- Can be extended with your own data.
- Automatic painless saving of your preference....
- Use an embeeded GPS if present, to be automatically located.
- Use an external GPS connected with Bluetooth, if present.
- Support of GPX file format.
- Support of touch screen enabled handsets .
- Send your position to friends.
- Not tested, but support for JSR179 for Phones with built-in GPS (in 03/2006 : Verizon Blackberry, Motorola A780 and Siemens SXG 75)
Compatible mobiles phones Generally speaking it is compatible with J2ME Java platform MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 or MMID2.0/CLDC1.0 mobiles phones such as:- MMID2.0 : Sony Ericsson K700,K750,K750i,W800,V600,etc.., Nokia 6230i, etc..
- MIDP1.0 : Sony Ericsson P900, Motorola V600.... Blackberry version
Give it a try !

Great find, tried the MMID2.0 version on my Siemens SXG 75 phone with built-in GPS and it found the JSR179 GPS and put me on the map. You need to type in the URL in the browser and download the jar so for convenience purposes I put it here http://www.gpspassion.com/j2.jar
Problem is that the screen sometimes goes black with red lines if you zoom down too low and then all you can do is exit the app and restart it.
