CUSTOMISING THE Packard Bell GPS 400
BEFORE- AFTER- MATRIX
  
Having followed the instructions on this page (PERSONNALISER LE Packard Bell GPS 400) - I wrote an English version, hope this helps if you are having probs
1. Download the zip pack
2. Unzip the pack to where ever you can find it
3. locate the files cust400.cab,photoviewer.exe
4. Setup up a active sync partenership with your GPS400 click explore
5. Double click the applications folder,double click the photoview folder
6. Copy cust400.cab AND photoviewer.exe to the photoview folder on the GPS400, it will ask if you want to overwrite photoview.exe Answer YES
7. When finished this reset the GPS400 (you will need a paper clip or something suitable DO NOT MOVE THE SLIDER SWITCH OR ALL WILL BE LOST use the the hole below it to reset)
8. After the reset click on photo viewer icon (far right icon)then click the ok a few times and thats it
Have fun. Any probs or if you think you have messed it up just do a hard reset (the slider switch) all will be back to normal.

You got it, what was the problem originally ? I take it you're in the UK, is the GPS400 becoming popular over there ?

1. It automates the installatio, original one is reinstated upon exit
2. It's there, you just need to "wake it up" ;-)

| I have been wanting to do this to my PB gps 400 but currently arent able to because i have lost the cd with the original drivers on it. If anyone has the suitable drivers or knows where i could find them, their help would be greatly appreciated! :) |

Hi
I have followed all the instructions and have uncovered Windows CE however any software I try to install gives me a message saying that it is not compatible with the connected device type
Have I missed something? I have also tried putting the .cab files on an SD card straight onto the gps 400 and it still doesnt work.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Has anyone got any software to install properly?

Can Someone Pleazzzze Show me or tell me HOW to Install programs on to Windows CE on the GPS400 Packardbell I have installed the Windows CE software and Video player Divx all works Fine!I CANNOT get the other software applications to install everytime it states that file is not Windows CE Compatible. The files are.cab but allways come up with and error if there are missing .dll can u specify the file and How to install them or where to place them. Can you really install other applications if SO HOW?

| Hello Again Well I have Dropped the .dll from both zip files that is from packdllxania.zip and pack.zip in to the Windows folder, However when i drop a file using active sync in to my SDcard folder and try to run installation file such as .exe or .cab for a software application e.g. Winampaq i get the same error messages i.e this is not compatible with device etc. Am i missing something or have i made a mistake pleaze help! thankyou. |

Hi
Have dropped the two dll packs into my windows directory but still cant install any software?
I got a strange message about a sharing violation with aygshell.dll but that dll was already there and the new one was the same size anyway?
any ideas?
