Hi!

First, I want to thank and appreciate the amazing customer service at Semson's for a great buying experience!!! I'm generally wary of buying online, but their site and support is great!

I bought the GlobalSat BT 338/TomTom 5 Navigator package. However, the included GPSInfo software doesn't seem to work on my PDA(iMate PDA2K). It works on the desktop but when I click on the icon on the PPC, it doesn't do anything. Now, it hanged my PPC requiring a soft reset.

Is there any other utility that you would recommend which would give me some info about my receiver or another version of GPSInfo which would work with my PDA?

What COM port are you using, have you closed TomTom properly, etc...? GPSinfo really doesn't do much, I like most everyone out here use the BT388 with its factory settings. Other tools include CE Monitor, GPSTweak, APLsirf, you'll find them easliy by searching the forums.

Thanks for the reply...I tried using GPSInfo before I had even loaded TT5, since I wanted to test the BT 338....then I tried it after having loaded TT but having closed it....I really don't think I'm qualified to tamper with the factory settings of the BT 338....it works good the way it is! I just wanted to be able to see the reception/ satellite signals without having to switch on TT.....but I did get the whole thing working.....

found the mentioned tools....I needed to know their names!thanks!

edit: using COM port 6,it wouldnt see the BT338 using it as an "other" GPS receiver and I ended up using it as other wired GPS receiver...!

You cannot use other GPS software with a Bluetooth reciever when you have Tom Tom installed. The only way you can is by either getting GPS gate or unintstalling Tom Tom anytime you want to use GPSinfo.

No that's not true anymore, only TT3 "kidnapped" the BT GPS port ;-)
