Hi! I use one program that make from NAVMAN ICN510 one POCKET PC. After install of that program, you can install and use all programs for Pocket PC ARM. Also TomTom 5. If you are interested, you can download him from here: http://www.eurocom-ad.nl/eurocom/navman.zip . Dont be afraid, it's great work. If something going wrong, just reset device (Battery On-Off sw.)

Hier is some install expl.":
1. get file NAVMAN.ZIP
2. unpack
3. get conection Navman-PC
4. start program NAVMANICN510.EXE and install that on your Navman
5. copy all unpacked dir (4) to the \Pocket PC\Program Files
6. copy PocketPC.exe to \\Pocket PC\Windows
7. Install prog. Registry Workshop, start it end go to File-Open pocket pc registry
8. go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then INIT and change LAUNCH80 key(double click) to pocketpc.exe
9. unplug your USB from Navman. The app. going to restart en vala, you get a menu.

Welcome to the forums, sounds interesting as no one had been able to customize the Navman 510 so far, like we did for the bluemedia/Transonic/Medion/Mio 268 - http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=147
To make it easier for people to try it out I put it on the server >>HERE<< with your message above as the readme. I don't have a 510 handy so cannot try it and make screenshots, have you made some maybe ? I will post this in the FRA forums too in the existing discussion.

I have some questions ...
1) Sorry for my english :-(
2) Can i listen mp3 music in same time i use icn510 in gps mode ?
3) The program doesn't exist in french ? or change some *.dll ?
4) How can i do a backup to come back with smartST V3 ?
5) Which map can i use ? map for TomTom or Navman ?

Just tested this on my 520 and it does install ok.
Anyone know how to add the installed apps to the front menu and also If I install TomTom which version do I use, I tried version 5, which reporded it installed ok but I cannot find the app on the 520 to use it.

I have exactly the same question. MP3 files would appear to load and play ok. I too tried TT5 and although loaded, can not see how to activate it.
Any help would be appreciated. |

When i'll shutdown the ICN it will restore navman applications ... just a question : Can i rename or move this file : \My Flash Disk\Backup\appstartupsec.exe for stop restore applicatiosn when ICN start ?

Program installed on my NAVMAN ICN 510 and the menu appear. But each time I click on NAVMAN,no task bar appear but a red line on the top with "no carte , carte blocked program failed".
Can you check your program to custumise it.
I have also some probleme with"Registry Workshop",It do not work
so good. |

Now I am studying the method used in medion the 150 and control the differences between our Navman and the NPDA150 MEdion.
I have uncovered that lacks important rows called gwis.exe Graphics, Windowing, and Events Subsystem (GWES) The receive Windows CE NET module that contains the graphics and windowing functionality needed to display text and images and to user input. It includes all the functionality needed to created and manage windows, controls, dialog boxes, and resources such as icons and menus. It also processes all user input. GWES includes the graphics device interface, which displays text and images on display devices and printers.
We must insert this file in our Navman iCN510 !!!!
But I do not succeed to find it .... how can I do..
You have one copy of this file ?

Hi,
First, thanks to Aleksandar for the good job. If I understand, you want to keep the application programs after a cold start. Deleting or renaming Appstartupsec.exe is not sufficient, because you will got an empty OS, without applications and without shell. (I thing !) You must replace this file with another one wich must do 4 jobs :
1. Copy all the applications (including navcar) from the flash memory and (eventually) from the storage card.
2. Copy a shell program like PocketPc.exe (or another) to the /windows folder
3. Install (if required), the compact .NET framework
4. Change the key 'Init' in the Registry, to point to the new shell
Unfortunately, I don't have the developpement tools for CE .NET, so I can't try it.
Concerning Registry Workshop, I have also difficulties with this program. I prefer using a tool, wich is part of EVT (from Microsoft), wich is free.You will also find in EVT others usefull tools like a Process viewer (and killer !).

Has anybody found the solution to the problem raised by Mgt1275 i.e. the fact that when you shut down the iCN it restore NAVMAN? How can we go back to POCKET PC? When the iCN is ON how do we switch from NAVMAN back to POCKET PC? Hope somebody has the trick.

I try to update the registry on the Navman with Registry Workshop but everytime I try to connect to the mobile device it says that it cannt connect. Can any please give some hints so I can update the Navman registry.
