Speaking of which, we are going to the UK for Christmas and im now wondering if my road maps on my new c330 would work over there? Or would I have to purchase the UK maps from Garmin?
Also, every time I power up my unit, I have to tap the "Agree" button for the "WARNING, do not attempt to enter route information..." screen or I just leave it for about 7 seconds then it goes to the main "Where to? / View map" menu. Is this normal or can I somehow get this thing to bypass the confirmation screen???

hey guys does anybody have a v8 dvd that they could post?garmin 330
cause i got ripped off..lol some guy sold me a demo.now i have to tape the screen once in a whyle or else the demo come one and screws everything up..lol it hase version 7 in it.thx would be very gratefull. |

| Getting the actual V8 dvd still won't help you ... the Demo units are only for demos and would be of no use for navigating. I've heard of these units being sold on Ebay and pawn shops ... Buyer Beware. |

| have a c330 to replace my ripped off 2610. I like it but miss the screen on my 2610 that showed me all the satellites, signals of eac on AND my altitude. I sometimes like to know how high I am in the mountains. This info must be hidden someplace, surprised it wasn't in the upper right hand 5 sec touch area- seems like would be something the service techs at Garmin must use. |

| guys im new to this forum but all this hard reseting isn't letting me even turn on the device i had it running with the battery and then i was about to plug in the car charger but the system turned off now it wont turn on i tried the reset button but for some reason it wont turn on can someone help me with my problem please, thank you. |

| If anyone is interested, my c330 froze, and out of frustration I broke it trying to open it and do "what I don't know". Anyway, the front plate came off while I was doing this and under the plate (that says Garmin) is a "reset button". Hopefully, this will save people a lot of frustration. |

Hi everybody, I am new to the forum and need your help.
Recently I bought on eBay “Garmin c330” that appears to be a DEMO model, after reading the posts.
I am so frustrated right now because the summer is almost over and we are planning to go on a trip with my wife.
Is there any option software or hardware to make it NORMAL?
I am in real trouble because my wife will kill me if she realizes that I have got a piece of s**t.
Any help is appreciated,

demo mode in the devices can be 2 kinds:
1. If user entered DEMO unlock code and transferred maps to the device. It can be cured by flashing another maps without demo code (delete code in Mapsource).
2. Demo unit made by garmin. Ususally these units are refurbished old broken units, with water on motherboards, strange gps-chip behaviour. So, garmin turns off gps-chip, flashes demo-version of the firmware, and put this unit to the stocks for DEMO purposes, assuming that these units really for demo.
But sellers may be want to sell everything... So, sometimes devices appeared on ebay.
This demo device is capable to revert to normal state only with soldering iron (usually), and long firmware replacement (not trivial for usual users, so it's impossible). It useful also for parts to recover some broken units (display, keyboard, buttons, etc..), nothing else.

| I have had a Garmin StreetPilot 2730 for over a year now. My mother-in-law just picked up a Garmin C330, but I haven't seen it. They are going to stop in some day and want me to customize it for them. I have a number of POI files that I will try to load up for them with the PoiLoader. I also will try to help them with Favorites that they can create. I think it will be like the 2730 and I can have 16 categories of favorites. Are there any other things that I should be looking at for the C330? Are there any un-official guides or tips that I should pass along? Also, she doesn't seem real keen on the windshield mount. Is a bean bag mount available for this? |

I have a problem with my Garmin C320.
I perform a hard reset by holding the right lower corner and pressing the power button. After 30secs I get connect the dots test and after that the screen is white. I have placed it under a blue sky and nothing happens after 40 - 60 minutes. Still shows white.
Does anyone know if the unit should have a white screen or does it log into the unit and display the main menu?
