How to "hard reset" a c3x0: see below or click here Searching without entering street number: see below or click here Access to Diagnostic Pages: click here edits by GpsPasSion and Diverhank
I'm new to this forum, so if this post is in the wrong place or if this issue has already been covered in a previous thread please forgive me.
Being a C330 owner for a couple weeks now, I've come to realize that the manual is not very in-depth and sometimes omit features that the unit is capable of doing. For example ... 1) POI can be seen as you travel (only) in browse map mode. 2) You can save your current location by the following keys [Menu-Where To-Browse map-Info-Save]
Are there any other nuggets to find on this unit that's not listed in the manual. Please post your finds. |

All of my input to this thread would be specificly related to the C330, since that's the unit I own. Every once in a while when I'm playing around with the unit, I'll see an tab on the bottom of the screen that says "Set Loc" ....now that I'm trying to find it again and I can't. Does anyone know what this option could be used for. |

| I think I found it...I had to go into Simulator Mode and turn off the GPS antenna. It's used to set your location for indoor simulating.....but of course everyone already knows that. |

TIP: To find an address with no street number, just put a zero as the street number, then you should find the street okay. The unit will start you off at the end/beginning of the street. |

Tip: Even though the C3x0 is a strip down version of the 26x0 models, there are some of the features still embeded in it. To repeat a voice activated command, all you have to do is press the "next turn" tab on the screen and the last command will be repeated. |

"...I would advise you to do a master reset on the unit. You will loose any saved data when doing this. With the unit off, press and hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen, keep holding this and turn the unit on, hold it for 10 more seconds and the unit should say do you really want to wipe all user data. I hope this sorts the problem out."
It didn't help me, I still have to use 2.80 to be able to read the screen, but I thought someone might wanna know about the master reset function.

Thanks, works a charm and probably the only practical way to mass delete a larger group of POIs instead of doing it one by one from the device! There are about 10 configuration screens (mostly calibration) you have to go through but provided you have your favorites stored in MapSource you can be back in action pretty fast.

Someone asked in earlier posts how to get back to main menu without having to press the back button several times, well you can do it by keeping the back button pressed for a while and it will jump to main menu.

A little correction to my previous post, it does not seem to work from all views, like map view and when entering an address. But helps anyway when you have to make only one back and then keep it pressed and it will take you to main menu.

This is probably common knowledge and is documented but I thought I would mention it just in case.
1. When you are routing... To find out how far you are to the destination, you can press the arrival time to get the speedometer page. One of the displays there is the distance to destination.
2. When you are routing...At any time, you can press the "Turn In" and a popup message will announce the details of the upcoming turn. this is very handy.
