I am new to this forum. I do not know if this question has been asked in the past. How do we control the scale of the map in the GPS Task pane? I see it change at times when we zoom in or out. But I have yet to find out how to change that scale at will.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Rick,
Welcome to GpsPasSion Forum!
The zoom level of the overview map in GPS Task pane changes as you change the zoom level of the main map. Well, not exactly, but at least that is what it should do ;-)

Hi Marvin, Thanks for your quick answer! That's what I thought, we cannot actively control or scale the overview map in the GPS Task pane. It does what its wants depending upon your actual zoom of the main map.

Yes, at least if the overview map would more consistently follow the changing zoom level of the main map. Then I would at least consider the overview map to be a nice and interesting visual effect But I suspect most users just wish we could have the option to just disable the overview map completely. The GPS Task pane with out the overview map would be especially a welcome change to people who use smaller screens (e.g. 7") at lower resolutions (e.g. 600 x 800).

Actually, the overview map would be great IF it was sized (zoomed appropriately) so you could see one screens worth of information in every direction. Then you could actually use it to move one page worth or several pages just by clicking it a few times. This is really poor coding on MS's part. I love how when you zoom all the way in, it goes to whole world view. Oh well... now I just wish it would go away.
