Hi Marvin,
Thanks for the speedy & friendly reply. I should have tried a simple theme.ini file before posting my problem but unfortunately, having just tried it, there is still no effect. I suspect I'm probably doing something wrong. I have posted a similar question directly to iNav but it being the weekend and also the holiday season, I'm not expecting an rapid response. Merry Xmas.

I am finding the same results with the WM5 version of 2.1.3.2NA... Theme.ini appears to not have any effect still.. Also searched the iGuidanceQVGA.exe file in a hex editor for any mention of it, and came up empty.

Back on the "importing favorites" topic, I have 150 waypoints from another GPS which I can put in a text file, Outlook, ...or just about any other format. Anyone know if it is possible to do ANYTHING other than manually enter each and every one into iGuidance favorites?

Also, it doesn't appear waypoints exist in the traditional sense ---which can be searched in distance order....or am I missing something?

Now we finally know how thanks to the new THEME.INI which was made by the good guys at Intellinav/Netropa and made available by Inav Corporation.
Download the full THEME.INI @ http://inavcorp.com/support/downloads.php
Let's look at the code for changing background color:

; map background color (day night)
MBC0=255,220,128 0,0,96
MBC1=192,192,192 64,64,64
MBC2=255,255,255 0,0,0
MBC3=255,128,255 128,0,128

MBC0, MBC1, MBC2, and MBC3 represent the four iGuidance color themes. For example MBC2 is the White color theme, 255,255,255 is the RGB value of white color used during the day, and 0,0,0 is RGB value of black color which is used at night. Change the RGB values to any color you desire (match the color of your car, etc).

Ooookay, what I meant to do was reply & add text, but that didn't work.

Marvin, it should be mentioned that the MBC code doesn't work with ver 2.1. Is there any workaround that you know of (other than purchasing the newest version)?

Thanks! I love how you've organized this thread...very detailed & concise.

Well, I guess that's a "no" to both importing waypoints and searching for waypoints in distance order.

I am glad to know though that significant progress has been made in regard to changing colors.

Hey Guys, This is my first post on this board, so ya for me.

Anyways, I just got my Iguidance 2.1.3 for my carpc, yesterday for Christmas. I can not wait to start messing with it, and doing some of the things that have been done on this thread.

I got the combo pack that comes with the Royaltek Sapphire Receiver. So, I have everything and the fun starts!

Great board, I will be using it alot now!!

tthursto and RickNY, I finally got around to installing v.2.1.3.2 on WM5 (iMate Jasjar). Theme.ini is still not functional as far as I can tell. But since the info on the download page states that theme.ini is now supported I'm quite positive this will be corrected soon. I suspect the programmers have been busy with more pressing issues regarding WM5 compatibility.

LiteBright I'm not aware of a "simpler" way of importing favourites, and you are not overlooking anything on the waypoints issue :-(

Viscouse As far as I know no one ever managed to successfully use the MBC (Map Background Color) in earlier versions, so indeed upgrading may be the only option if you like that feature.

naturalsr405 enjoy you X-mas present Matt!

Thanks Marvin. I guess the option to search for waypoints in distance order (as traditionally on older GPS's) now officially fits in the category of a (hopefully very simple) feature request.

To me, when you're somewhere that you've been before, it's always nice to be able to see where you are in relation to the significant stops (waypoints) you've been to in the past. It is also nice to be able to punch in several new waypoints and know what order is best to visit them in.

Version 2.1.3.2 corrected two issues some of us were having ... a 3D problem on QVGA units ... and a comport reselection problem on some PPC's running WM5.

Embed iGuidance in other applications

Make iGuidance more touch screen friendly

PURDooM over at mp3car.com was kind enough and took the time to compile a summary of applications and/or modifications which make iGuidance touch-screen friendly (and look pretty). Click here to read the "Purdoom's big book of iGuidance apps! (Faq)"

I have just discovered this thread which has led me to design some Subaru Impreza WRX icons for iGuidance.

Hope you like them and they are of some use to any Scooby owners / enthusiasts.

Out of interest, where is the theme.ini file located for editing with some of tips from this site. Is this installed with iGuidance from the beginning or does it have to generated from scratch. I am running version 2.1.2 Europe.

Many thanks,

Steve

Nice indeed. Steve thanks for sharing! If there are some Mitsubishi drivers, here is what I did a few months back for a Mitsubishi owner:

I just started using iguidance, made custom theme.ini with some customizations thanks to yours and other users postings. I use IG on a laptop and at a certain zoom levels I can see roads but no street names. Is display of more street names per zoom level customization possible in 2D and 3D modes?
Is "see more roads" customization still limited to 2D mode only?

Thanks, Greg

Tissy I didn't answerer your question about where to locate theme.ini file. The file doesn't come with installation of the program, but it is available for (free) download to registered iGuidance users it iNav Corp website.

gmg Hi Greg,

1.) I'm not aware of a practical way to achieve displaying of more streets. You could change your zoom level values (FZL and MZL) to make iGuidance think that a higher altitude zoom level is a one step lower altitude zoom level, and that would I think let you see more street names. But the problem is that there are only 11 zoom levels and to do this you would practically waste one of the zoom levels.

2.) The "see more roads" customization is very likely still limited to 2D mode only. I haven't looked at it in newer iGuidance versions, but I highly doubt there would be any change.
