POIConverter will convert Points of Interest, routes and tracks stored in the formats shown in the first list to any of the other formats in that list.

I found it very useful since Microsoft removed the pushpin export data facility in Autoroute.

Thanks Ossie!

Yes, I have heard several people asking how to export pushpins from MS Streets & Trips, too. And it seems like POI Converter has an undocumented feature here ;-) While on the list of supported file formats it list MS AutoRoute (*.axe), there is no mention of MS Streets & Trips (*.est). I managed to "fool" it by renaming a Streets & Trips file TEST.EST into TEST.AXE. Thus POI Converter thought it was an AutoRoute file, and it happily converted it ;-)

Just to update the thread. The latest version of POIConverter does read *.est files directly.

I see in the POIConverter documentation that it says .est files are "also" supported, but that file format is not listed in the "open file" list so how do you convert an .est?

Also, when I renamed an .est file to .axe as mentioned above and tried to convert it POIConverter crashed.

I just tried to open a S&T 2006 file. It says unable to create tmp file and closes the program. Probably user error but not sure what error. I am admin on my laptop so there's no permissions issues that I know of.

crazykz,

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I had your same problem and thought it might help others that stumble upon this discussion. Your MS S&T.est file needs to be closed. POI Converter is a great tool.
