Looks good so far. Only done 40 or so miles but hasn't lost it once with TomTom 5.10. Havent tried 5.21 yet as I want to give it some more time. |

Hi there, does anybody know, how to disable the battery warning? It stops current application (navigation software e.g.) when it comes in foreground. Only way I found was using the touch screen to confirm the message - but this is difficult while driving (on motorbike) ;-) Thanks in advance

| sorry if this shows up twice, the website just sat there when i posted this previously. in regard to destinator on the 6515, it needs two things to work. you cannot open com7 directly from destinator (it has a com7 setting but it doesn't work properly on the 65xx). you need a com port splitter such as gpsgate. you split com7 off to a virtual port and open that port instead from destinator. also you need a 240x240 patch from destinators website. i havent tried it so im not sure if it works well. i have iguidance which is the same program but they dont offer a patch and you need a valid destinator s/n to be able to download it from destinators website. the patch may very well work with iguidance as well, but i havent seen anyone post that they've tried it. |

Hi, I seem to have found a new problem: I installed the upgrade v2.03 and the quickgps icon changed. I can even download and see what the expiration date is. BUT when running VisualGPSce, it does not plot the satellites anymore and it does not show the signal level strength! I started the log and can see that I get alot of NMEA data.
Has my 6515d has lost the ability to translate NMEA? (Fugawi and Tomtom only report "no fix")

Is the fix that people are talking about regarding SLOOW GPS acquisition time upon Tomtom starting?
My boss has a hw6515a (cingular wireless) and I've helped him setup the Tomtom. He can't use it because after running tomtom, it takes almost 5 minutes before the GPS signal is found by tomtom.
I thought it was broken until one day I decided to just leave it on top of my car hood while talking to my boss. After what seemed like 10 minutes, I was shocked to hear Tomtom Jane's voice prompt...
Once you turn off Tomtom, and you start it again, it will take another 4-5 min until we get signal again.
Anyway, I was wondering if this update will fix the GPS signal acquisition. |

Actually, no, time to fix is the strong point of the 6515 thanks to its AGPS features, less than 5 seconds in good conditions. Two things to check: 1. Makes sure the quick gps (AGPS) files are up to date, tap the icon bottom right 2. Make sure you're car does not have a coated windshiel that blocks GPS signals. Having said that since v2.02 you can get a fix without the AGPS files much faster so it's worth the upgrade anyway.

I have a 6515 and can't seem to get the iPaq Navigation System to work. I had it working for a few weeks, then something changed (not sure what) and I can no longer "find" the GPS device. I've tried the Auto Detect as well as setting it to Com 7, 57600 as indicated elsewhere in this forum.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Rob

That's pretty odd, check to see if the GPS module is still working with a utility like VisualGPS CE, it's in the download section of the portal.

What version of the AGPS is the latest? The looong time to fix is standing OUTSIDE, with clear sky 360º. If he doesn't have the latest AGPS, where would I get the update?
Thank you for the help,

I have the HP HW6515, and I have the hardest time getting a signal. I've drove for four hours once and had the device on trying to get a signal to no avail! I used MS POcket streets, TomTOm, and even HP/Navteq. Nothing can get a signal. I used to be able to get MS pocket and TomTom to work occassionally but now nothing works!!! Does anybody know why? I even upgraded the GPSlocate thing through the posts here. Nothing seems to work. I've tried hard resetting and reinstalling everything too.
Are there softwares out there that would let me know whether my GPS is working properly or if there is a conflict? Does anyone know what can help? Please help me out!!! |

That's odd, do you download the QuickGPS AGPS file regularly ? With a fresh file, time to fix is between 5 and 15 seconds for me and with the 2.03 version you can get a fix without it if it expires.
