Can a remote waypoint ( lat & long ) be entered into a 2610 and then travel (ie be directed to it?) to it? Example: Enter an offshore waypoint for a fishing site. PS I am new to this forum please bear with me...
- Can you, on the Garmin 2610, enter a Waypoint by its lat/long? - YES
You simply tap the touchscreen and the Garmin creates a waypoint of where you tapped on the map. You tap the waypoint symbol, a flag that appears on the touchscreen, and you see the data for the waypoint you just created.
You simply enter the coordinate you want, guided by Garmin's intelligent prompting system on its ASCII/Numeric keyboard shown on the touchscreen.
When you have entered the lat/long that you want, you are givin the options to "Show on Map", "Route-to" or just to "Save" the new waypoint.
You also have the option to name it anything you want or you can choose the 2610's default name.
I'm not so sure it will "auto-route" you to a fishing spot off-shore though. Your car might get a little 'wet' ...
