Sorry... but i couldnt find this in the search.
What is a smartphone expansion sled? I keep reading that it is sold seperately, but i cannot find what it is! I have an mpx220, and i hope to use the GPS locator with bluetooth. If there is info, please put it i the first post for other people to see!
Thx! |

Ok, so i guess i'll purchase the software-only version, then purchase the GPS when the time (or money :P) comes! |

Great forum. When zoom around in streets and trips 2005 roads seem to disappear at will. When zoomed in really close to a specific area all the roads are visible. When I zoom out they disappear except for major highways. Is there a way to force all the roads to show up no matter what scale I'm zoomed in at? |

All mapping programs display different level of detail at different zoom levels. (If we zoom out to view the whole world the map would look cluttered if it attempted to show all the local streets.)
However, I do agree that at some zoom levels S&T could display more road classes than it currently does. Perhaps the road display threshold could be adjusted a little. We could add this one to our Wish List for Streets & Trips 2007.

I just discovered your forum....great info. I found the zip files of data usable for RV's eg. Flying J, Loves, Walmart etc. I was able to import them into S&T 2006, but am unable to change the black pushpins to another symbol as a group. For example, I found a Flying J icon on this forum and imported it to the program as a custom symbol, but when I right click a Flying J pushpin and go to properties,I can change the symbol only for that one pushpin and not the whole data set. What am I doing wrong. Also importing the "Walmart" data set creates too much clutter..........how can I turn the data set on and off?

Vince, to change pushpin symbol for all pushpins in a group, open "Legend & Overview" pane (Ctrl+G). There under "Pushpins" right-click the desired pushpin set, and select "Properties". The rest will be familiar ;-)
To reduce clutter created by too many pushpins you could either use the smallest dot pushpin symbol, or create your own even smaller one (1 pixel in size).
There is no way to turn them all ON and OFF, even tough I suspect this feature has been requested many times by many users.

Hi everybody,
Sorry about my Enligsh first. I believe I just found the right forum, where I can get my problem resolved. Does anybody know how to export a large map for pocket pc? I was getting 'The selected area is too large, please select a smaller erea.' when I tried to export a large map.
Thanks! Leo |

Hi Leo, that is a limitation of the program. But there are other GPS software which let you install as much map as your memory space allows. Check other sections of this forum to find info on products like iGuidance, CoPilot, On Course Navigator, TomTom, Mapopolis, etc. The choice is plentiful for the PocketPC platform.

Thanks for your such quick response, Marvin! A little sad to hear that though.
I thought there was a way to do it, as I heard somebody exported the whole North America map from MS Streets & Trips into their pocket pc. Don't know why the developers put a stupid limit on the map size. Anyway, I will try to search on the web for possible solutions. Wish me luck! :-)
Also, thanks for the recommendations for other products!
Have a nice weekend! Leo |

While Microsoft supports NMEA standard in its software and hardware, Garmin uses its own proprietary format.
GPS Gate, (an application many of us use because it allows us to run several programs simultaneously with only one single GPS receiver), now released Beta version 2 which seems to do both conversions NMEA -> Garmin and also Garmin -> NMEA. I haven't tested this myself, but check the website fore more info: http://franson.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2756

I tried looking for the awnswer to my question but didnt see it, so here it goes.
Is there a way to modify the default settings of
Fuel tank size: MPG City: MPG HWY: Time of Depart: Time stop: Variance:
Basically everything in the "more options" category so I do not have to change them everytime I do a new route?
Thanks for your help
