What is life without a GPS. One that works would be the answer.

Here's my problem so far. Just received a new Magellaa RoadMate 1700-LM. I charged the battery for about four hours while reading the User Manual front to back. I turned on the unit and there lit up was the Blue screen with the infamous WARNING stuff regarding not to play with this gps while driving.. I know, I have two eyes on the road and three mpre to use elsewhere.

The user manual says I'm to get a screen showing two Icons...GO TO and VIEW MAP. I don't get that, and from reading the manual, I don't get very much what the manual shows. Trying to reach someone at Magellan is another life to be had. Anyone know what to do here?
