| The Xog has a mini-USB port for power and USB communication. There are no other ports for charging. No, you cannot use the round port next to the USB - in fact, I think that's either the earphone jack or the reset button hole... What is the symbol on the rubber port cover? |

The round port is between the mini USB port and the reset button hole. It looks like an earphone jack. Can the mini USB port be replaced, I have not opened the unit up yet. I do not need to communicate with my PC only need to supply the 5 vdc to power it. I really want to keep this thing running as I have many miles of Quebec trails saved. thank you for your help |

That's the earphone jack. No, it cannot be used to power the Xog. The mini-USB port can be replaced but the part is something you're gonna have to search the electronics suppliers for. It's also very small and soldered/glued to the PCB. That's a job best left to the experts. Might want to try taking it to a PC repair place to have one of their techs look at it.
I suspect, however, that you may find it'll cost nearly as much to fix it as to replace it with another entry-level GPS, unfortunately. |
