I am given a Magellane 1200 US Roadmate GPS. When I power on the GPS, it says:- SD card has been removed, program will restart. Please insert SD card with the map.
I dont have SD card withe map....

There is NO SD card in the sloton the side of the GPS.

I guess SD card maintains some part of the ' purchased' Magellan map. But I don’t have that particular SD card. i dont want to buy/pay for a magellan map.

When I connect the GPS to a PC, a flash TFAT folder on the GPS opens up with subFolders-:App,MAP, GPS, SYS,User, GPSPara etc. These folders are in The GPS.

How can I download, install and use a Freeware map [Garmin, Tomtom, Google or any type] and make this GPS functional for me?

Maybe I have to unlock this GPS first? I don’t know how to go about it.

Please help me step by step

Thanks
