I have a Jensen VM9424BT in-dash head unit for my car. It has an SD card slot, however the navigation software is apparently installed on internal flash since there is no SD card in the slot. I've been searching for a while and can't seem to find a way to unlockthis unit. I know most people who unlock their in-dash units do it through an SD card because that is where the head unit reads the navigation software from. I know non-in-dash GPS units can be connected to PCs to unlock them. There is a USB slot on the head unit as well. Would a laptop be able to read the internal flash if hooked up through USB? Any other ideas? Thanks a lot.
Pointing out this video, on your unit's main screen "Source" you find an icon "Setup" which presents you a menu with submenu "Navigation" where you can select the path to navigation software. You abuse this path to point to the "unlocker" (on SD-card) you want to install.
EDIT:
Current devices as yours mostly have the navigation software located at internal storage device, external storage device (SD-card) is reserved for videos and musics - where those by default are searched for.
Yea that's what I thought. Also, that navigation menu has no such option to change the path to where the navigation software is located. Does this mean there is no way to unlock this device. I can't see any way to get into the internal storage to manipulate the files.
