I am having issues loading routes on the nuvi 1390t and had a few questions. I hope you can help... I have created the off road routes and loaded them onto the units... I can see them but sometimes it uses them and sometimes it does not. Most of the time it just over looks the off road routes and creates an 'as the crow files' line to the off road point from the road. What am I missing? I would like to know if I am correctly setting up these routes? The routes are < 35ft away from the public road. we have a polygon defining the map area. The routes stick out 10+ feet from the polygon. They are properly named and tagged. Is there a white paper or something on the process...? I am using ArcGIS to make the lines then loading them through MapSource-Map Product creator. Any help would be very helpful. Thanks, Brittany
Multi point routes are not supported on a Nuvi 1390. If your seeing any results at all on the 1390 then you are creating something different than what Garmin calls a route. Also since the Nuvi is an automotive GPS it will always attempt to calculate a destination using roads in it's maps. A handheld GPS would seem to be a much better alternative to using a Nuvi for your application, although I have no experience with ArcGIS.
