Hello,
I have an Teltonika FM4200 tracker which connects to the computer through a serial cable.
If I connect it to my desktop computer directly in the serial port then 2 COM ports appear in the Device Manager. One for Configuration and one for NMEA.
Since I don't have any desktop pcs available with a serial port, I bought a USB to Serial adapter. But now I have only one port from the adapter in the Device Manager and the computer doesn't see the tracker.
Is there a way to split data coming into the adapter COM port into the two ports?
Thank you,
grimzy.

I have a couple of these adapters myself and they work well but I doubt they can handle a serial connection that creates two serial ports, never seen one myself, certainly not your standard PL (prolific) device. Your best (and only) bet might be to grab a cheap laptop with a serial port that can run the software that came with your tracker.

It seems that I was mistaking, one device connected into a serial port cannot create 2 COM ports in device manager. There are probably other compatibility issues.

It does seem a bit odd, well you could give the profilic USB to Serial drivers a try then, Google should find them for you.
