After updating the maps in my nuvi 750, speed limits were displayed for the first time on Canadaian roads. (I've always seen them while on U.S. trips). On a recent journey from Toronto to Sault Ste Marie, there they were on all the major highways including speed zones through small towns. On the next highway trip a few days later in Canada, there were no speed zones displayed. What happened? Did I accidently shut them off? How do I activate this feature again?
You can't turn them off or on as they are part of the map data. The speed limit will show if the map data contains the information. Of course it will not appear if the map data does not contain speed limit information.
My guess would be that on your second trip you traveled in an area where the speed limit data has not yet been included in the map data. This wouldn't be unusual at this point as 2013.10 map update was the first time speed limit data for Canada was ever included. I suspect we'll find there are lots of highways, or portions of highways, where the speed limit data is missing.
