Nuvi 3760, no USB connected, and "Select a Locale" no option

Hi I have a Nuvi 3760 (BMW version), which when turned on will not let me continue, stays in Select a Locale and does not give me options.
The PC did not recognize the device and I can not use WepUddater.
Only detects it if I hold down the screen in the top left for a few seconds, by displaying the text "system" and then "loading ..", then switches off and returns again to the screen "Select a locale ".

Anyone know what I can do?

thanks

This is what I say in the Official Service Garmin:

"Thank you for contacting Garmin Iberia.

There is no other way, simply do a reset which is what you have already tried without success, indicating that it is not possible to be recognized by the PC. I regret to inform you that you can not recover the GPS if it does not communicate with the PC, you must contact a BMW dealer for repair."

I refuse to believe that there is no solution

Please help me

Is there a reason you can't take it to the BMW dealer as Garmin suggests. They may just swap it out for a new one if it's in the warranty period.

Looks like you need to re-flash the device firmware using the pre-boot mode.
This is only possible if you have the original GUPDATE.GCD File and you can get your device into pre-boot mode.
A program called Garmincure3.exe by Kunix might be able to help you to achieve this : http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=143809 [ed]

Nothing is without some risk and I know of one user that managed to repair his device but lost some of the "BMW" unique mount functions.

Thanks for answering.

If I read the thread and see if I get something. I do not mind losing the features of BMW, because I don´t have a BMW. And I do not care to risk anything to try to make it work.

You know if you can load the firmware through the SD?

Thanks

Yes You can update firmware through the SD Card
Take a sd card and create a folder called Garmin.
Copy your GUPDATE.GCD to this folder.
Place SD in Nuvi and turn on Nuvi.
You cannot reflash the same version using this method. [NOTE BY ADMIN – PLEASE READ EMAIL SENT VIA THE FORUMS – DELETE NOTE AFTER READING, THANKS]

Missing Files is not such a big issue.

Once you have the unit working OK you will be able to get most of the files (voices, text etc) by running Webupdater. If you need a specific file. I'm sure that helpfull members at many Garmin Forums will be able to help you.
The Garmin Firmware does not run from Files, It runs from Flash Memory Regions.
The Maps,Voices,Text, etc runs from files on the Nuvi Drive.
Once you manage to connect to the nuvi drive, there is a good chance that most of your files will still be there.

Hello, you were right there was no need to complicate your life.

It turned out that the former owner of Garmin, had tried to install tomtom into the internal memory was full of trash and missing folders and system files.

I followed the steps of the post and now the Nuvi 3760 works perfectly.

BACKGROUND if anyone has the same problem as me, sometimes too is much information and it is difficult to find ...

1 º Download Official Firmware "GUPDATE.gcd" of the official website of Garmin.

2 º Download GarminCure3 and Updater.exe

3 º Follow the steps in the previous post http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=143809

4 ° Make a pre-boot push the screen in the top left while displaying the boot logo.

5 º loading the firmware in mode "Cure" to access the drive using GarminCure3 and Updater.exe.

6 º Download RMPrepUSB and follow the steps to format in FAT32

7 º Back to step 2º and continue until the 5º th loading the firmware in mode "original"

8 º Wait for it to boot the device and finally be recognized by the pc in normal mode.

9 º Use WebUpdater Garmin and load.

10 º Enjoy your Nuvi 3760, working 100% thanks to the people of this forum and the 2.0 philosophy of our wonderful internet .

Thank you again. ;)dasilvarsa
