My Garmin dashboard mount came undone and I'm in AZ at the moment and the next several months while my extra adhesive pads are on Cape Cod. :-/

Where is a good place to pick up one of these adhesive pads?

Thanks,

Rich

Most hardware or walmarts carry scotch HDuty double sided tape.Clean the base and dash good and apply. Auto Zones, etc. are good too.

RC airplane or car hobby shops have very good double sided tape.

I gave up the the double sided discs. Always worked free during the hot summer sun. I screwed it down..done.

I like the window suction cups

BUT

I wish there were Garmin mounts available that utilized two or three suction cups, as on my racecar's video-cam.

That way, when one cup comes loose, you have time to grab the unit before it falls to the floor....

You need 3M VHB Double Sided Foam Tape. Not sure on the part number you need as they have more than one type. I took the suction cup of my mount and glued the disk disk to it with Epoxy for plastic. Placed 3M VHB Tape on the disk and mounted it to the windshield. It has stayed there for almost three years now in the hot Florida sun.

By the way, VHB stands for Very High Bond. The double sided tape you find in automotive and home improvement stores will not last.

VHB is used to hold on sheet metal paneling for sides of Ultility trailers,Snowmobile trailers for one..expensive per roll but strong.
In my case I have a Ram mounting system (Aluminum not plastic) that extends the 1490T out away from dash towards me and down below dash so there is a lot of weight or leverage on the adhevsive. Screws did the trip..I've never been afraid to drill holes in Boat bottoms or cars. But I know what I'm doing :)
